Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
I correctly listed Vecna and Dip as guilty scans. It's hard to believe I wouldn't have been the NK or RB if I was also correct about Bozo.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 12:47 amExplain how those hyposcans support the theory that bozo is town? No one writes them with any certainty.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 12:31 amBozo has been under a ton of scrutiny.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 12:26 amBest I can posit right now will be based on VCA. Let me see how quickly I can do that.
But also consider...how much speculation have either of jamie or bozo been under? What have they done that is so hardtown?
Sparta's and my own hypo scans support the theory that Bozo is Town.
Jamiet probably would have killed me if he was Mafia. He also has been authentically Town Jamiet in a way that is hard to fake.
Similarly, Sparta had N1 Bozo Town, N2 Bunny Town, RB.
If Bozo was Mafia, then presumably Mafia would believe he was not Clerk and would not target him.
Consequently we can conclude that it is extremely likely Bozo is Town.

I would appreciate you using yellow or something for yourself since it is misleading otherwise.

It's always amazing that the Mafia do not NK themselves.

Who else completed scans then? Presuming that accurate scans put player in mafia crosshairs:
Bunny D4
Night 1: bozo: SCUM!!
Night 2: ghug: TOWN
Night 3: HamBone: TOWN
Sweet D4
N1: Vecna GUILTY
N2: rdr GUILTY
N3: Bozo GUILTY
Balki D4
Night 1: Vecna SCUM!
Night 2: Damo TOWN!
Night 3: Hamilton TOWN!
Sparta D4
If I am Clerk, my scans were:
N1: bozotheclown scanned as Town
N2: BunnyGo scanned as Town
N3: (roleblocked)
Hamilton D4
Hyposcan claims:
N1: ghug (inno)
N2: damo (inno)
N3: Balki (Inno)
jamie D4
N1: Balki (innocent)
N2: Damo (innocent)
N3: Worcej (guilty)
Did I miss anyone?

Doesn't Bunny's hyposcan disprove your thesis? I mean, it's a good idea in theory.
Yeah, I wonder how much attention mafia actually paid to those scans.
Is it notable who didn't offer scans?

Kind of. I don't think Mafia would exclusively rely on the hypo scans to hunt Cop. But you could point to that as a point in scum Bozo's favor.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 1:23 amDoesn't Bunny's hyposcan disprove your thesis? I mean, it's a good idea in theory.

Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
I suppose one thing I haven't considered is that Mafia could have been too SCARED to flip me, as it would have indicated my scans were correct. And I had high DK potential.
So maybe Bozo is not so clear.
He has also not looked so great today.
But I still think that Ham is the better vote. He also looks incredibly like scum trying to support the counter wagon D1.

Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
A great data point we have available:
When Dip subbed in it was
(4) LoW
(4) Ham
(4) Bozo
Dip immediately votes Bozo. Then later on in the day when it becomes apparent it would be LoW vs Ham, he votes LoW.
What are the odds Dip sees the wagons and decides to immediately bus?
I think extremely low. I don't know if this increases the odds of Ham being Mafia, but it again makes Bozo look pretty good.
I think Dip quickly assessed that Bozo had the most momentum, which at that very moment was true.

Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
Yeah, I'm fairly satisfied on the case of Bozo being Town.
Simplest solution is Ham. Maybe Pirate but I doubt.
A new data point for me is that Pirate voted Ham.
Mafia had a vested interest in keeping Ham alive. Of course, that doesn't mean that voting Ham makes for a lockdown, however I would expect Mafia Pirate to follow some sort of plan, and consequently I think it more likely he would vote Ham beginning of day and just coast.
Instead he switched to Ham end of day. Which looks a lot more like Town trying to make a decision.

extremely curiousChaqa wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 8:02 pmFroki Fernman was an odd man out at the meadery. He had been hired by the Foreman long ago, and many had eyed him suspiciously throughout their isolation. Many were sure he was involved in the conspiracy - "he had to be!" they would say. But Froki was innocent, despite all the evidence, and despite the Foreman's jacket he had stolen, and the fact he had stolen all the desserts from the pantry.
"Someone might get the wrong idea about me," he thought to himself as he walked down the hall late at night, planning to do some work and then take a nap in the abandoned office of the foreman. With him, he had a stack of papers he had found, and wondered what the scrawlings on them meant. He recognized the words to be Olim's, which made him wonder if he could solve this whole mystery if he examined them close enough.
He did not hear Qarl Thrush put the rope around his neck, nor did he get a chance to scream before the hard shove to the ground pushed the air out of his lungs. The papers he carried flew away, with one piece landing next to him. Soon he would give up struggling, and in his last moments his eyes caught a few words from a paper that landed nearby.
"Dragon"
...
"Hoard?"
Balki Bartokomous has died. He was the Miller!

I thought the game was probably mechanically solved, but perhaps not.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 2:48 amI suppose one thing I haven't considered is that Mafia could have been too SCARED to flip me, as it would have indicated my scans were correct. And I had high DK potential.

i will refrain from vanitypostingsweetandcool wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 9:14 pmOkay, so it's quite simple. Town was failing and Vecna and Dip seemed like obvious scum. I had thought there was an okay chance that Balki was Clerk and scanned Vecna as scum, so I pretended with my hypo scans to guilty three players, the first being Vecna, then Dip, and then a throwaway hypo on Bozo suggesting he was Miller. I also suggested I had found a crumb.
Then, with the bot down, I planned to have claimed to have found all of the scans. I thought if I only revealed the Vecna scan that it would be unlikely the Clerk CC me, particularly if it was Balki.
I figured I would be believed and Mafia would NK me, mission accomplished.
But then Bunny kind of roleswapped with me, and got the NK instead.
Then Balki claimed and I thought it was probably true, and of course I was going to go along with a Dip scan, but was surprised I didn't even get RB.
TLDR my claim that Vecna was a guilty was actually a pure Ego play. I was making it up.

day 6 i was afk because i was a poll worker and couldn't check my phone, was planning to be more activeHamilton Brian wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 12:45 amVotes as presented at EOD and not tracked as they happened?

lord: jamie, king, sweet, sparta, hamilton
bozo: rivera, ghug, bunny, damo, worcej
sweet: bona, lord, vecna
vecna: balki
worcej: bozo
That bozo gave an uncounted vote for lord; was that to ensure the kill , self-preservation, or what?

bozo: balki, jamie
worcej: vecna, bozo

It looks like I have been subbed in. I'll try to catch up on what's going on.

I agree with Jamiet that Will wouldn't have forgotten about Ham if Ham was his scumteammate, so that leaves bozo and LoW. Bozo's posts are erratic. Some seem almost trolly, others are helpful. I'm not sure what to make of this, but it's certainly not good townplay. Good town are consistent.
