I'd like to take a look at the ghug kill, something that I don't see much discussion about. There are 2 reasons I see mafia killing ghug, 1 is that following the roleblock, they suspected a cop, and the second being that ghug scum read probably multiple mafia members. I don't think option one gives us any leads, so I'm going to be going back through ghug's posts and reads, see if anything from option 2 sticks out.

I want to propose option 3, which is similar to your option 1. This is simply eliminating someone who is not a potential miskill anytime soon. Here are the lists of everyone's top three Mafia predictions from the end of day 2 (a couple of people didn't do exactly 3):

a) Ham is CLERK in which case he should reveal his scans before he gets NKd N3

b) Ham is VT and prepared this to eat a NK if a) scum spotted it b) he was in danger and could point to it

c) Ham is scum and craftily prepared this to avoid an early DK and sniff out the real clerk.

I dismiss a) and think b) closer to Ham mo and charcter than c).

c) is a bit high risk.

Conclusion Ham is VT.

Him soft claiming cop to avoid the D2 DK looks a lot more scum motivated, though.

If Ham is town we force Mafia to NK him.

If Ham is Mafia, worst case our Clerk scans him. Though I like to think we would catch him without that.

Okay, so, if Hamilton is not the Clerk, the real Clerk must scan him tonight.

Hamilton implied he was cop to avoid being the D2 DK, and is now saying he is not the cop but was trying to draw the NK. Mafia claiming a PR to avoid a DK when they are confident the DK will be diverted to a town is a common mafia play.
