Your take is interesting though, and it's also interesting we had similar thoughts about Balki but from different directions.
Thoughts on my bozo/Sparta take?

Wait...how do we know you weren't jailed and they RB'd brain? What's the order of operations?ghug wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:14 pmRIP brain. Did he crumb somewhere?
I agreed with Bunny about foodcoats hard defending Will in the moment being scummy/TMIish, but given Will's flip I think that exchange looks both of them look pretty townie.
I was roleblocked. Chaqa has confirmed that I'd get this message from being jailed or Mafia RBed, which means we know at a minimum that Mafia didn't RB their kill and we should probably have another RB claim.

GM Note:
I've had a few questions about this so I'll give some clarifications.
Targets of the mafia roleblock and the jailer both receive simple "You have been roleblocked." messages.
The order of operations is:
1. Mafia roleblock
2. Jail
3. Other actions
As such, the jailer can be roleblocked, and the target of the roleblock could also be jailed, but would not be aware they had been roleblocked "twice".

Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
There were no votes on Will until right before the end. All of the votes on him seemed to come out of nowhere. I think it is unlikely that another Mafia player would start that wagon (I think I am using that term correctly?) on the godfather so close to the end. I could be wrong, though, but I have updated my probabilities that so that sweetandcool is somewhat less likely to be Mafia that he was previously (and others are more likely to be Mafia).Bonatogether wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:15 pmwhy? i disagreeSpartaculous wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:11 pmI think that sweetandcool deserves a lot of credit for being the first player to vote for Will in the first day.
I need to think more about what to make of the other six who voted for Will.

Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
Some post-D1 and N1 comments:
1) I know I'll catch some flack wrt my damo vote. Rightly so, especially given Will flipped mafia. Re: bozo's suggestion of voting no-kill, I thought that was frowned on. Would that be a suitable option?
2) Sweet, what do you mean "naked" vote? I was in my underwear when I voted; doesn't that count as close?
Thoughts on voting Will.
Sweet did it first when it was 3/3/2/2 Bon/Sweet/Spart/Damo
(is Sweet mafia doing some bussing of a teammate when it's not dangerous to do so?)
Bona follows Sweet a little later.
Rivera's first vote in the game is Will tying the top wagons at 3 votes.
(How does this somewhat clear Rivera?)
Kin puts Will in the lead with 4.
Bunny solidifies it with the 5th vote but then goes to Worcej then back to Will. Worcej applies the 6th vote.
(Is the Bunny move one of öh damn, my teammate is going to bite it" or is it just random town flailing?
Why did ghug feel the need to leave a non-competitive wagon to get the 7th and final vote on Will?
Why was Foodcoats so sure that Will was öbvtown"?
Why was Bona so solidly certain that Will was mafia?
Was Worcej running a bussing gambit with the "Will 100% over.." comment?
THen a quick review of Will's day:
Does Will cover for a new teammate in Spart, or is that comment to give the impression of buddying?
Will states Jamie is town, and that they were their strongest town read. Does this give cover to Jamie if Will thinks they've got some longevity in this game so as teammates they can cruise through? That Will is confirmed mafia, how does that comment age?
Will asserts bozo/bona are the scumteam. Mafia will lie, but also tell the truth. How does this comment age?
Some distancing from Worcej from what I read and some shading of Vecna. Does this cast a dark light on Worcej and help Vecna look a little cleaner?
Will's reads list...how many mafia would actually be in his mafia spots?
Edit: wrote this before EON. Now seeing that Brain died. Bummer.

When you say "always", are you just talking about the last 8 minutes? Why did you suspect Just?BunnyGo wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:10 pm@worcej: I was always going for Just...I just didn't want it to run away so early and wanted to bait people into trying things. How likely do you think it is that the mafia RBed you but did not NK you?

Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
Lots of good looking analysis so far.
I look sufficiently good that I'm going to focus on productive analysis rather than wasteful defense.
I will however address the bussing theory that has naturally blossomed, but I'm only going to say this once:
Every game that Will and I have been teammates has involved massive bussing. So suspecting it occured yet again is only natural. However, if you look back at those previous occasions you will see that when I initiated bussing it was because I felt like Will looked so scummy that I absolutely could not resist voting him.
This game was quite different. My suspicion of Will was present and reasonable, but not strong. I feel that if I was Mafia that I would have been a lot more emphatic with my read on Will.
I am proud of my streak on reading Will correctly, I think only my first game with him did I get him wrong. Bona and I deserve credit for locking him away, but feel free not to locktown us too hastily.

Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
Definitely not impossible. I'm more inclined to think brain jailed me given his suspicions of me and the fact that I'm a popular early target, but that's far from a certainty.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:48 pmYou are the only one who knows that if it is true.ghug wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:14 pmRIP brain. I'm somewhat inclined to just not do VCA on a D1 scum flip because we always get it wrong.

I feel like I am good at reading all three of those players. Only with Will did I think there was a tangible reason to vote for them.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 8:53 pmsweetandcool wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 6:33 pmIn order of willingness to vote for:

Not enough data to assess the other two players confidently, though I do have suspicions.
