Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
I just attempted a reads list, but halfway through I got really tired of it and I kept essentially calling everyone null. I'm just going to post an extremely condensed version of it and then make a follow up post about who I am willing to vote for, who I am not willing to vote for.
damo: His vote for sweetandcool feels like a parody of his normal play. Still, not much content to really assess his alignment, I can only divine that he is busy.
rdr: Seems happy. Is actually towning me.
Dr.brain: I really like his play so far. I really just need to make a separate post about the content of the discussion he is generating, but I don't have the time today.
Ham: ??? Is excited about the game though, that must make him TOWN.
Pirate: Hmmmm, did follow through with unvoting me when I came back. Is making the classic newbie mistake of scumreading players you don't understand (bona). I want to conclude soft town.
worcej: I'm liking him this game but normally I feel nothing. Does that make him scum?
bozothetown: Opened the game pretty tinfoily. I think this is town bozo.
ghug: I think he is actually scum this game. Call it vibes. No, I am not able to make a case at this time. I am reasonably confident that by D3 I should know for sure.
Balki: I like him this game. I think him "panicking" about the lack of content is generally more townie, but I don't know his scum game and if that is a scum trick of his.
Jamiet: I'm actually pretty good at figuring out when he is Mafia. I'm not sure yet, but he is feeling worse rather than better so far. His reaction to my RNG vote was Authentic, but in the follow up discussion around it his suspicions of me didn't display the critical thinking I would expect from Town Jamiet.
Will: I think there is a decent chance Will is scum. Bona has correctly pointed out that Will's content mostly lacks substance. My discussion with him also indicated that Will's state of mind was one of disinterest in solving the game, which is less likely to come from Town.

##vote Worcej
Im not completely convinced I should disregard the brainbomb slot entirely, but his little joyfull moments at my expense are probably more likely to come from town.
Bunny/Worcej/Foodcoats/HB are all people I want to vote.

It was an attempt to determine if you meant what you said or are just posting random things.
Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
Id like a conversation about the posts made by Spartaculous. I have reread the posts and there is a false confidence to them. I say false because the tone seems misplaced, and the tone doesnt match the content of the posts. It reads like a new scum player who doesnt know that they have to be nervous about things.
Does such a thing exist? well, thats why we play the game. I would argue yes. it very much does exist. we have seen fearless mafia plays out of people recently, such as will, and I do think its much easier to play as mafia in a very early game than it is to do so later when your habits are on display.
What struck me as odd, and still does is that sparta has no townreads, and seemingly no actual scumreads. This alone is just maybe inexperience but add on top of that, they dont seem to want to inform their reads with any form of dialogue. The closest thing there is to a scumread is to make a somewhat underhanded attack on rdrivera about his lurking habits. And the weird part is that I dont really think rdrivera is even a lurker this game by the normal definitions.
What ive seen out of sparta indicates to me a player who isnt curious. They are not asking any questions or conveying anything about how to read other players alignments, or anything that can certifiably be considered towny looking.

that wall post by sweet and cool is the most towny thing he's done all game by quite a wide margin.
Normally his walls are scummy as fuck all, but this one is actually pretty good.

I'd rather swing you over BB at this point and I don't want to swing you FWIW
Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
I think you've communicated to me with the vomit emoji more than actual words in these games lately
Re: Mafia 88: Murder at the Meadery - GAME THREAD
I can only mean it if can name the exact 5 players?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 6:32 pmIt was an attempt to determine if you meant what you said or are just posting random things.
The discourse has been dominated by a select few people. You dont feel that is an accurate assessment of this game?

I didn't know if you had 5 players in mind or if that was just a generalization. As a generalization, it is probably an accurate assessment of every game.Vecna wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 6:35 pmI can only mean it if can name the exact 5 players?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 6:32 pmIt was an attempt to determine if you meant what you said or are just posting random things.

Who do you want to flashwagon instead?
Im fine conversing a bit and have you change my mind.
Its gotta be better than appealing through a pity party though.

Could you point me a game where Damo was helpful on D1? This post and vote is completely odd for you.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 6:25 pm##vote Damo666
He is not helping and he is not sticking his neck out in any way. Maybe he is scum.
