1. You announced you had found a color invisible to dark moders. TEE HEE.
2. I said to not do that (i.e. deliberately hide a message from dark mode users, or light mode users too, logically). TEE HEE

1. Ghug criticised you for using a colour that was not easy to see in light mode.
2. You responded with dismissive abuse.
3. I agreed with Ghug and announced I had found a colour very hard to see in dark mode.

There was a ruling on this matter by Eden in the last year. He said it would be against the rules to hide ones posts by making font size so small it was unreadable. And this was because of M1025 where bunny was posting multiple things in tiny font.

But on this basis, people should not use colours that are hard to see in light mode, no?

Chaqa was suggesting that as long as a text colour works ok in dark mode, people who use light mode just need to suck it. I do not think that is reasonable.

KOUNCIL RULING (AKA the reason ghug will not have time to purchase a burrito at the lovely taco truck before bar trivia, you're welcome):

We have a preexisting rule on the subject of legibility:

'We announce a new rule which requires all votes, including end votes, to be cast in a legible font, which includes a font size sufficient for a normal viewer to read unaided."

This rule applies only to votes, and not other posts. It covers all aspects of text formatting, including color and size, and protects users of dark mode and light mode, the colorblind, Braille readers, and any other user who requires particular accommodation, provided they voice it.

The rule does not apply to all posts out of a desire to avoid draconian measures, but, like any other permissive rule, this is subject to change if permissiveness is abused. Please keep in mind that your fellow users may not use the same color scheme as you, and that's OK, because it's a fucking color scheme.

If Chaqa actually wants to ban light mode, he should discuss it with me, because I would have strong opinions on the subject. I currently see no indication that this is his aim.
