Actually that is unfair of me insofar as kotp may be new to forum mafia but we shouldn’t ignore he has transferable skills.
Does the game he's played involve a lot of analysis of mechanical actions (like Avalon) or is it more vibe-based (like in-person mafia)?

Maybe because we all originally came here for a lying game is the reason mafia play translates particularly well
Idk, just a guess but probably why we’re better as scum then town
The irony is that almost everyone who plays mafia here sucks at diplomacy (reigning legitimate World Cup champions notwithstanding).

Damo soft claiming with 2:18 to go:

"Attention townspeople voting me (at least 4 by my reckoning): you are making a mistake and STRONGLY advise you switch.

Although I still like my sweet vote that wagon appears to lack dk potential having ben around for a while. All the other wagons with the exception of no-kill are in my vote pool so I will ##vote Kak who apart from being second wagon is voting no-kill which is not sensible in this set up.

I expect Kak will now switch to me making it 6-5 so I need at least one person voting me to move off.
"

Compared to this game with 7:54 left:

"Looks like a straight fight between me and sweet.

I would ask my voters to think again. I will be valuable later in game."

----------_----------_----------------------

I really don't think he was making a serious softing attempt.
My main takeaway from this facet of damo's eod1 was that he was speaking in a way that would make people hesitate to vote him without committing to it
My (biased) take is that unlike the first case (where he was trying to survive D1 DK and eat the NK) he had almost 8 hours and decided to very gently soft in order to relieve pressure while still being able to claim he didn't really soft. Town damo would have waited until the situation actually warranted softing and he may have been a little more blatant about it. (Counter argument: He had 2 hours in that example game and he arguably should have waited longer before softing).

That or he really didn't mean to soft and this is all NAI

whenever chaqa is potentially involved, fuzzy weirdness shouldnt surprise anyone.

Ive only had eye so far for the sweet -> brainbomb connection.

After being called out for extravagant meanness between the two being potential theater, has anyone had any interesting thoughts about that dynamic?

Brainbomb stated sweet hurt his feelings, and sweet responded "i knew it". Yet in the moment and directly afterwards, sweet was acting hurt by the words.

Im not sure what to think of it.

It wouldnt surprise me either if brainbomb is scum of a certain team, thinking he has identified scum vecna on the other team. Or him doing it as town, not wanting to be dicked by a low effort scum vecna without having been on my case.
That did not strike me as theater.

Work was hell today. Let's see where we are.

This post, including the parts I snipped, was extremely helpful as someone who missed the entire Ham flash. I agree that this is probably scum protecting either sweet or damo - possibly both. The talking about yourself in third person is a little bit weird, though.
Overall I have a scumread on damo so I will
##VOTE DAMO
It's weird that this quote says it is by sweetandcool even though it is by brainbomb. This suggests over-editing by D&W and a mistake somewhere in something he was mucking with. Over care for his post? Scum points!

D&W likely a scum... still. And a lot of people agree. D&W a very good kill for town today I think.
omg it is actually by sweet

I am losing my mind

or sweet and brain are becoming one man
See, this is the shit that I would townread the shit out of in a normal game and cannot here.

If you could describe another players play so far as a vehicle what vehicle would that player most resemble thus far
D&W - PT Cruiser
Balki - Tesla Model S
Vecna - Orange Saab
Damo - My friend's 2000 Chevy Prizm that they always searched at the border because the interior was peeling off itself and that ultimately got totaled because it was lightly scratched at the far end of a chain of parked cars that dominoed after a guy crashed into one of them.
snowy - The "bring out yer dead" cart from Monty Python.
worcej - A Boeing airplane of recent vintage.
ND - A three legged donkey with a tutu taped to it.

Show of hands, who all noticed that damo softed a PR during D1?

This might actually be important.
I considered it a more subtle attempt at what he did on the block as VT D1 a few games ago that successfully drew a NK because some moron on the scumteam was convinced he was claiming.

These are great. What's your problem?
You’re mafia aren’t you
No that's you.

I've since changed my mind on damo if that helps.

Balki's good. rd is ok but very overrated. I was good like half a decade ago but my skills have probably atrophied. Vecna is solid FTF I think? Everyone else who I've played with or seen play sucks. Bunny idolizes swordsman or brother bored or whatever he calls himself now, which pretty much sums it up. Perhaps some of the new guard are good, but I'd wager not many.
