the obvious reason so many scum may have chosen me is that they later can try to claim to be an extra doc if there is one, and claim they were docsaving me.
What can I say? I'm survivin'

doc claims wouldnt generate a counter claim either, because if theres only 1, that doc isnt gonna be prepared to challenge the possibility theres a second

Re: Mafia 87: Madness in Mega-City One - GAME THREAD
How do flashwagons happen?
1. Mafia support, due to teammates leading wagons or being under no pressure.
2. Person being flashed is to varying degrees suspected, not necessarily expressed in thread.
3. Top wagons, regardless of actual alignment, are considered "bad" by some players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the Ham flash succeeded because of all three. I think many people didn't really want to vote damo or sweetandcool or both.
I think there was a small undercurrent of suspicion towards Ham throughout the day. I think this was extremely exacerbated by him popping on near EoD, voting for someone he didn't scumread, all while saying he was leaving the thread and wouldn't be back.
So was there Mafia involvement? Was it because they were protecting a teammate (damo) or was it because they weren't under pressure and happy to support a flash?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think a good place (actually it turns out to be terrible) to start is when Ham placed his vote on Food.
Will immediately reacted in disbelief, then the conversation got totally railroaded by sweetandcool complaining about rdr's racist remark, then Will matching profile pics, then people yelling at the GM.
Nothing really notable happens until snowy tells ghug to start a flashwagon and ghug responds with going after Balki. Okay, so the Balki flash is maybe important to look at in a different post, it looks like this post is going to be more of a summary to help me guide my attention.
The Balki flash doesn't go anywhere really and then there is a lot of conversation where people are trying to make clear will they will vote, presumably to encourage a viable flash.
Will mentions Ham again in a negative way, pointing out his absence. Still nobody else has mentioned Ham. Now the real action begins: Chaqa responds to Will and calls for a flash of Ham, at the same time sweetandcool calls for a Dip flash.
The Dip flash is actually the one that gathers steam, but then Ham shoots himself in the foot by reiterating his bizarre statement about voting someone he thinks is not Mafia.
Damo then votes sweetandcool making the wagons:
damo (5)
sweet (4)
Balki, Dip (3)
There is a little more discussion about Ham, particularly Kak seems to agree with whatever Ham was doing and joins him on Food, ghug expresses suspicion over Ham seeming to know the setup well and then later indicates he is okay flashing Ham.
Kak finally votes Ham, after some discussion that indicated that confused Kak was fine with Ham, ghug was fine with Ham, Will was fine with Ham. Interestingly, sweetandcool only makes one mention of Ham and it was a soft defense back when Chaqa originally called for a Ham flash.
Then the deluge gates open as Will and ghug join, then Darg(!), then Chaqa follows through with his earlier call for Ham. Now Ham is properly viable, and I think Darg's vote plus the rest of the votes after Chaqa are super interesting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, so this post turned into a timeline rather than much analysis. It's helpful to me, but I'm guessing nobody else.
Still, it will help me with my analysis, which I will work on and post later.

I'd vote dip or damo too but I don't really think there's a point in focusing on them early, as a lot of discussion was made yesterday on themsweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 7:13 pmWhat would you like to see as the top wagons?
I'm pretty set on Dip or damo. Darg would also be a good wagon which is somehow absent.
RHK just subbed in so let's see where he goes

Work was hell today. Let's see where we are.
Overall I have a scumread on damo so I will
##VOTE DAMO
This post, including the parts I snipped, was extremely helpful as someone who missed the entire Ham flash. I agree that this is probably scum protecting either sweet or damo - possibly both. The talking about yourself in third person is a little bit weird, though.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 9:09 pmsnip

So... who scanned brainbomb then? Do those people being scum fit into your world view?sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 8:10 pmOh! I know. So it's super bizarre, right? I asked it twice. it isnt about scan results. its about coordinated scan choices. which 5 people chose me. im asking if you think that scum would coordinate to all scan the same person to distance, and claim that they would never all choose the same person.
Brainbomb. It's brainbomb. He told his entire team to scan him, then later he would point out how bizarre it is, and how it must be an entire team coordinating.

I'm sorry to say this post was a joke. I mean, it could be a correct conspiracy theory but it's just too outlandish.

Re: Mafia 87: Madness in Mega-City One - GAME THREAD
Well, I think we should focus on resolving damo/sweetandcool. I really think if damo flips Mafia then Darg is his teammate. If sweet flips Mafia, well I haven't thought about that for obvious reasons, but off the top of my head I think that makes Chaqa look like a teammate.
Consequently brainbomb should be fully off the table. I don't think it will give us much info, and since so many people claim to have scanned him, surely one must have actually, and consequently flipping him would essentially be wasting that scan.

How would you describe your main motivation for elaborating on a world view where you are scum
Re: Mafia 87: Madness in Mega-City One - GAME THREAD
Ahem, I’ve been very clear on my opinion on Vecna, whether or not it is aligned to a true scan or a hypothetical one, but no one followed me, and I thought we might come back around to it as people realize he is scum.damo666 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 4:06 pmThere are three players who reported a false result but are not voting for their alleged target. I purport that this makes them statistically more likely to be scum than other players.
These are
food
Will
sweet
I am willing to vote any of these.
Kotp is voting rdr on whom he claimed FALSE but he also so claimed RB so this is nonsense.
Sweet reported False on Brain after Vecna and Balki had already reported TRUE (which I also subsequently reported). I'm not really sure what to make of this. If he were scum wouldn't he mimic the other two?
So I am left with food and Will. Will already has a vote so I'll go there.

food what do you think of the way Vecna hopped on damo at the eod1?
