I've been bogged down in lots of silliness, so I don't feel like I've had a chance to properly evaluate.
I want to sheep you, but I don't know who you think is Town and who is Mafia.
I really suck at multi-mafia so I'm just trying to stir shit and avoid tunnels for the most part.

ND returns to the game thread. Fresh off of huffing gasoline at a local nascar rally.

I'm probably going to regret wasting time on this, but I've got my late-night tea and jamming to Sum 41's latest and last, so I guess I'll take a close look at the thread and see if I can get a proper handle on the game.

His vote on me was on page 1 and was clearly just for funsies. Why do you have to wrestle with that?
Me he votes his first vote for someone he respects. And I felt that was an easy way to just make scummy anchor votes.
Now having seen he was town engaging in that behavior I can choose to accept this is just what he does or I have to wonder if its NAI. And if its just an NAI thing its still something he could do out of nefarious motives
Well, let me help you: it's totally and completely NAI. Spend no time thinking about that particular thing. Plenty of other stuff to think about.

Re: Mafia 87: Madness in Mega-City One - GAME THREAD
Alright, I reexamined Balki and the results are in!
Why Balki could be Mafia:
(1) Early poster.
(2) Mech talk.
I've already talked plenty about (1). So what's wrong with (2)? I think the most problematic thing is that Balki whipped out his Mech plan right at game start. Which means that he thought about this before game. So was he just excited about the setup or did he come up with it in prechat?
According to him, he doesn't decide to play Mafia games based on the setup, rather he decides not to play them based on the setup. This implies that he wouldn't be likely to think very much about the setup before the game starts. This makes it more likely that he thought of it during prechat.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also haven't really liked his play so far. But that could easily be personal bias given that I don't like what seems to be his style of play.
I think Balki COULD be Mafia, but I also think that on page 41, post #805 (I really wish they would reenable links), Balki gives us something to work with.
All game I have been bugging him and he finally lashed back at me. Lets suppose that Scum Balki made this post. Why? Did he feel under pressure? That I had made a mistake and made myself vulnerable to a counterattack?
I don't think he felt under undue pressure. Particularly because nobody seemed to be agreeing with my arguments and nobody was hopping onto his wagon. I also don't think he suddenly thought I was easy prey. I'm sure he had ample opportunity to lash out at me sooner than that.
I can't think of a convincing reason Scum Balki would make that post. However, I can imagine Town Balki making it. I think I pushed Balki into being at least a little upset with me. On top of that, he legitimately felt like I was playing inconsistently and he wanted to call me out.
Yes, I think it much more likely that post came from a Town player rather than a Mafia player.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In conclusion, I think Balki is Town. I'm basing that practically on one convincing post. Because I am unfamiliar with Balki, and I do think (1) and (2) are valid, I do feel conflicted about concluding Balki is Town, but I think that is the correct answer.

I always have wished I was as good at this as balki, as commanding as HR, as accurate as xorxes, as beloved and zany as Maniac and darg is just my fav webdipper in general.

I think Will is Town.
It's incredibly freaky reading several takes of his that are the same as mine.
I am disappointed that he has suddenly started scumreading me. I think it is because I have stated opinions that he doesn't agree with? Shameful.
Really the only mark against Will is that he was an early poster. I buy his reason for catching the thread quickly, which is that he was online putting orders through and noticed the thread start.

Woah I missed this.brainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:34 pmif there was any curiousity about this read, or you still had it, why is Will not part of it. He was right there at game start. changed his av to match mine. and began pretending to be me also. That seems like the sort of outlandish things he did as mafia two games back where he powerwolfed the whole game into oblivionsweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:32 pmNot dropping a very valid point. And before we have another annoying spate of discussing it, I don't care about the whole time zone stuff. It's still a valid point regardless.
Will did these things??? How did I miss it. He really changed his avatar and pretended to be you?

@brainbomb
I looked at your damo example ISOs. And while all three demonstrate a bit more engagement than this game so far, they also exactly align with damo's D1 play, the same one I'm seeing here.
To think damo is Mafia because of his play so far is just setting the bar low on his abilities. You think he is incapable of looking less scummy as Mafia?
I am disturbed.

Okay, brainbomb is back to being top scum candidate.
He just seems so weirdly dismissive of my abilities when in previous games he has expressed at least some respect.
I don't have a convincing argument, but yeah vibes are pretty bad here.
brainbomb seems intent on killing damo and me. And part of that involves him assuming we are worse at this game than he in fact knows that we are. I can see how he is laying a path of flipping damo (which currently seems likely to happen), then fingers crossed because it will give him an excuse to flip me if damo comes back Mafia, then once I flip maybe he'll claim Will has been pocketing me, or maybe he hopes I actually am on the other Mafia team and that will also be a great excuse to flip Will.

Not a fan of ghug this game, but I'm just going to say null for now. One interesting thing to note is that he is defending damo.

I can't really assess Darg given his activity.
And with that, I'm done for the night, that's the pool of early posters, unless you include Pirate who I just didn't feel like looking over.
