Darg has not contributed sufficiently besides a vote on me.
But I mean he did say he was busy.
Not much info from his ISO tho

Hmm maybe I should tone down the posting. I have already hit the MU standard cap 24 hours into D1

Do you mean to say you believe Darg is particularly good at identifying brainbomb's alignment?JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:11 pmI need the handy dandy Darg-dar™ to indicate brain’s alignment
How does you calling him scummy assist in this connection?

Hmmm, that's true.snowy801 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:05 pmIt's always easiest to find scum in active posters for obvious reasons, if there are anysweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:03 pmI say we shoot in the barrel of posters who were active at game start. There weren't very many, candy Mafia would be more likely to be around to post at the beginning. I think a high proportion of them are likely scum.
But in the long run I think the dust that these players leave in the wake is more useful than their immediate kill, which is not the same for these lurkers

I'd be willing to go back to Darg. He hits both metrics.

Re: Mafia 87: Madness in Mega-City One - GAME THREAD
Me scumming him has nothing to do with this. Darg allegedly has a scumtell on brain that seems accurate. So depending on what darg says and how brain flips (if he flips) can give me a lot of info on darg’s alignmentsnowy801 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:12 pmDo you mean to say you believe Darg is particularly good at identifying brainbomb's alignment?JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:11 pmI need the handy dandy Darg-dar™ to indicate brain’s alignment

I'm just picking on you to see how you react. Others may as well.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:04 pmit has been brought up more than once, and I'd like to put those accusations to rest.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 7:54 pmYou seem strangely fixated on disproving the notion that you could be coached.
What do you think has been the most interesting thing about this game? Is there anything that you find confusing so far?
My greatest confusion stems from my inexperience and lack of communication in this setting. Everyone already seems settled in and is taking everything in stride, while I'm kinda sitting here trying to keep track of all the directions the discussion is going. accusations and defenses, as well as posts that may not even be relevant! and it's all updating so quickly... Also, I'm very unfamiliar with the mannerisms of people playing mafia, so I don't understand the significance of things such as amount of participation, voting patterns, etc. and how those can be tells to if someone is Mafia or not (side note: is scum the same as mafia?).
As for interesting, I like the overall experience of the game, and general excitement I'm getting. I sincerely enjoyed Among Us when it was big, and social deduction games have always been fun for me. I probably should've tried Mafia before, but never could find a group that was interested.
Scum is same as Mafia.
Don't worry too much about what people consider to be scummy or not. You will learn in time. Just let your heart guide your posts.

##VOTE BALKIsweetandcool wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 10:07 pm##VOTE Balki
I have a feeling this game is going to be incredibly easy for town.
MEAN MACHINE ANGEL
Each night, Mean Machine Angel's power is dependent on the number of votes that were on him at the end of the day which has just taken place:
- If there were 0 votes on him at EoD, he is entirely calm, has no night action, and will scan as if he is a Goon.
- If there were 1 or 2 votes on him at EoD, he may carry out a Night Kill.
- If there were 3 votes on him at EoD, he's Angry, and may carry out a Night Kill which cannot be prevented by any means.
- If there were 4 or more votes on him at EoD, he's in a Frenzy, he may carry out a Night Kill which cannot be prevented by any means, and he is invulnerable to any killing actions that night (including being Ignited, but he is not immune from being Primed).
Balki is first to hit 4 votes, and the wagon completely evaporated.
We may have our first candidate for being the mean machine
Would Angel!Balki have scum motivation for cop hypoing? I am too braindead from travel to figure it out at the moment.

Can you really spell that possibility out please? What's the theory? Which of my Day 1 early voters appear most likely to be on my Angel team? Explain the strategy that this Angel team has used so far. Explain whether you think this is the kind of suggestion that is likely to be true and should be validated or is likely to be false and should be ignored or refuted.

Re: Mafia 87: Madness in Mega-City One - GAME THREAD
I am just going to point out that the ghugcorollary is bad because scanning someone as innocent (ie normal cop) and sharing the "true" result looks the same as, for example, being the psychic cop and reading a Dark Judge.
For reference the ghugcorollary is:
Addictive Cop - INNOCENT=TRUE, GUILTY=FALSE
Macho Cop - INNOCENT=TRUE, GUILTY=FALSE
Naive Cop - INNOCENT=TRUE, GUILTY=FALSE
Methodical Cop - INNOCENT=TRUE, GUILTY=FALSE
Parity Cop - Same=TRUE, different=FALSE, no result=FALSE
Vanilla Cop - Vanilla=TRUE, Not vanilla=FALSE
SJS Cop - Cop=TRUE, Not cop=FALSE
Psychic Cop - Dark=TRUE, not dark=FALSE
Presumably after EoN everyone shares what they hypothetically scanned, with vanilla town... actually we don't know. Maybe they flip a coin, maybe they always report True or always report False.
Here is my version of Balki's plan, with modifications:
Everyone says, before EoN, "If I hypothetically were a cop, I would scan X".
Cops say who they are going to scan. This includes Methodical Cop, unless they know their target can't be Judge Fear (see below), in which case they claim to be scanning someone they would scan if they were a generic cop.
IF docs know their target can't be Judge Fear (ie, we have identified the target as a different role with confirmation, we know who Judge Fear is for certain and it is not the target, Judge Fear is dead, we have confirmed that Judge Fear is not in the game), then the docs say they are targeting the person that they would if they were a cop.
If the target might possibly be Judge Fear, which currently applies to everyone, the docs say they are scanning whoever they are saving.
Town claim they are scanning whoever they would scan if they were a cop
Then, after EoN, everyone reports their results as follows:
"normal" cop, addictive cop, macho cop, naive cop, methodical cop: Whatever (innocent/guilty) you received
SJS: Dark = Guilty, Not Dark = Innocent
Parity Cop: Use your discretion. Lean towards "INNOCENT" unless you are certain of the previous night-target's team. Imply your findings in normal posts.
Vanilla Cop: Use your discretion. Lean towards "Innocent" for Vanilla. If the target claims to be a cop and your scan returned "not vanilla", claim "Guilty".
Doctor: Use your discretion. Lean towards Innocent.
Vanilla Town: Use your discretion. Lean towards Innocent.
It's a lot, but the point is that instead of ambiguous "True/False", we have "Innocent", which indicates the target is probably town, and "Guilty" which indicates the target is probably scum. We would need someone to keep track of the hypothetical scans as well as the hypothetical results.

Not exactly in 3p game. His suggestion is anti-Judge. But not anti-Angel or anti-town.ghug wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 9:15 pmAdvocating mechanically optimal play is NAI.foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 8:35 pmThis implies Balki is not only the mean machine but also that some number of his voters are on his scum.
