The House of Lords is part of Parliament.
Of course it is. But its members are not called "Members of the UK Parliament" and that is what the question was. Its members are called "Peers."

This question was missed.
Question: Member of the House of Lords?

Conditional Question: If so, member of Cabinet?

No, not a member of the House of Lords or the UK Parliament (as far as I or Wikipedia or google know)

Is politics one of his top sources of fame (using wikipedia as an example, politican or something of the like would be listed at the top, with the rest of the job related descriptors)?

Hopefully yes, otherwise we may have been looking in the wrong direction altogether...

Using the example you cited, yes.

Well that was not what I meant when I asked the question, but I'm glad we got it cleared up.

Only London is possible, given the latitude restriction.

Did this person hold political office in a country other than the UK?

"Was he born in London?" would still be a perfectly good question though.

To clarify this, I mean somewhere other than England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland (and Ireland, when it was part of the UK).

Yes. And the original technically would have had a different answer.

It is not him

(To be clear regarding my prior statement, I viewed the word “country” as dropping out between the original and the clarification, but I’ll be the first to admit that the definition of the word “country” tends to be somewhat flexible, particularly in this era).

I will offer a clue after the next guess or question so everyone has a shot at it, since Hom is currently limited by the 2 question rule.

Australia and New Zealand were both clearly "countries". It is an open question whether they were "states" before the 1931 Statute of Westminster, but if our subject is from any of the Dominions (all of which were countries), I will feel sorely misled.

So could be a State/Province/Territory/Protectorate governor or similar? I'm kind of at a loss where to look now which is a shame after a promising start.
