Eh, I will be helpful (for free) and tell you that you're not looking for a country listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive#Global_production

Re: Twenty questions, round 232
This is Q19. Here is what I will say:
- The kind of plant that this character was produced from is very well-known. You and I have seen a lot of things that look like this character.
- The kind of plant that this character is produced from does, in fact, produce flowers, but I am pretty sure I personally have never seen flowers produced by this kind of plant (I had to look this up). The character itself is not a flower.
You want something with a lot more personality than this.
Re: Twenty questions, round 232
A shamrock would have been good, given the date, but not specific enough to match the hints.
Re: Twenty questions, round 232
If the flower question was #19, does anyone want to get their free guesses in before I ask a Q20? FYI, my question will be "does this entity have a given name (like Pete the Dragon, or Excalibur); as opposed to a description (like the Stone of Scone, or the Royal Oak). I am not asking that question yet, just putting it out there to the players to see if they want to guess before I ask that question - or to suggest a better final question.

but I think I am going to go ahead and "Pass" on the question - I could see either binary answer being misleading.

Your question is good.
I'm absolutely stumped tbh.

Re: Twenty questions, round 232
Ok after a brief internet search, I'll throw in my free guess as such:
The Thousand-Year Rose, in Hildesheim, Germany
The Thousand-Year Rose, in Hildesheim, Germany
Re: Twenty questions, round 232
it's obviously wrong but it's at least a free guess, there's this tree that owns the land it's planted on, and then when a hurricane tore it out an acorn was saved so now the son of the tree that owns itself sits on that land. fun fact.

No. (This is clearly a flower, and it doesn't have enough character.)DarthPorg36 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 2:07 pmOk after a brief internet search, I'll throw in my free guess as such:

Re: Twenty questions, round 232
I hope the QM is convinced that this entity he's thinking of is "a character", as that's a basic Rule 0 requirement.

Scottish Thistle (the 'flower' thing might rule this out... but I am not sure of plantical definitions.)

Re: Twenty questions, round 232
oops nvm... i thought the free guess time was in place. This is NOT a good enough guess to waste a question for.dargorygel wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 2:18 pmScottish Thistle (the 'flower' thing might rule this out... but I am not sure of plantical definitions.)
Re: Twenty questions, round 232
Plus that is a symbol. I'm pretty sure the hints imply that this is an actual item with its own character.Scottish Thistle

Re: Twenty questions, round 232
We are still waiting on Q20, so we are in free guess time. But I will ignore your guess, and suggest you think of a different one.dargorygel wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 2:19 pmoops nvm... i thought the free guess time was in place. Re: Twenty questions, round 232
How about this for Q20 people?
Is this a particular example of a [non tree] nut or fruit?
Taking views, not a Q for QM yet.

Re: Twenty questions, round 232
I don't know what you have in mind, but the answer to that question wouldn't help me. If you get a Yes to that question, and that leads you to a good answer, go ahead and ask it. If the answer will leave you just as stumped, perhaps not. I'd rather know what country its associated with, but can't pin that down to one with just one question.
