I don't think I agree with your conclusion at this time, but I do like your thought process of deciphering what scum!frog might've been doing, and you get town point; and, I will pay more attention to frog, who seems to be acting similarly to their town game in the last one - which is something that tends to trick me.JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 3:45 pmWell honestly it’s just a vibe I got after seeing someone else point it out, but the “Give me reads on 5 players” was really sus.
This makes me think that Frog was trying to get Chaqa to say someone was mafia-leaning to make Chaqa an outsider to that person. Bonus points if more than one!
Usually I really hate this kind of arbitrary speculation from others but I actually think I could be right about this.

Objectively black is not a color, and white may be, but black certainly is not.

I believe I have provided at least five reads so far. Are you not reading?Frogsterking wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 6:47 pmTalk to me, not about me. You are evading my question at this point in time.
Re: Mafia 86: Accidents Happen... - Game Thread
Indeed, I think frog makes a lot of reads without explaining them. I tend to want explanations to back up reads and get annoyed or scumread people who don't provide them. That said, I think you pointed this flaw in my reasoning out last game (that I scumread people who don't play town like I do); also, a great example of my approach's failure was a strong conviction about Will's alignment that proved wrong. But I guess, at the least, this all means that frog's play is NAI (in my opinion).sweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 4:08 pmThat's funny because I thought he was a little different. Can't put my finger on it, but he is not bothering me as much.foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 12:35 pmI am trying to avoid leaning on meta too much, but Frog does not seem to be playing materially different from last game. Is there any post in particular that seems fake?JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 2:49 am
I don’t know who said it but it was like: “Frog is trying to be Frog from last game, not town”
I think his Town play is actually incredibly easy to copy as Mafia, so I'm annoyed by Heart towning him for just playing how he did last game (pretty sure Heart towned him last game for the exact same reasons).

This raises a question to me. When an LED displays black on a screen, is it turned off? Like if there is a black outline around a color image.JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 6:57 pmObjectively black is not a color, and white may be, but black certainly is not.Chaqa wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 6:56 pmThere is no such thing as an objective answerJustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 6:32 pm

"I believe" is a qualifier, I want you to explicitly write out 5 reads that you have now.Chaqa wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 6:58 pmI believe I have provided at least five reads so far. To the GT:Chaqa wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 5:17 pmBunny is one of my favorite people to play the game with because he knows how to read me. That said, he also is good at buddying me. I don't have a specific read on him yet this game. Most of my focus has been on you, ghug, and Frog (had to retype this b/c I kept calling him Fox lol)brainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 5:12 pmThe fact anyone would expect you to have five formed reads on day 1 is pretty ridiculous but he also doesnt know you that well.
Ive seen you take control of town on day one in a mini with 12 players and you were towns biggest asset all game long. You had very hard nosed reads that were solid and you fended people away from the players you felt were most town, in that game bunny was like attached at your hip. And you were right he was a horrible miskill in that game.
so I know you can do those things when you feel like winning.
Just a thought but what do you think of bunny?
….
I have no idea how to read Chaqa. If I’ve ever done it I think it’s by waiting and seeing how others read him and how useful he is?
I have no idea how to buddy people. Anyone who remembers my scum games (and granted it’s been a while since HamB has been taking my share of scum rolls) would know I don’t naturally play scum as a buddying style. Perhaps it’s because I’m naturally abrasive? Like steel wool.
This isn’t to say Chaqa is lying or wrong. Just that’s not how I think about my abilities with regards to him.
Also…I’m a bit flattered. Just don’t know what to make of it.

To the GT:
Doesn’t froggy usually make reads about active posters?
Why he stop at like 3 reads and i don’t think about 4 of top 5 posters?
Why is food scum?
Sigh…need Vecna and bozo to come play.
Need to get back to work…

The confidence would be about your team as a whole potentially all being free from suspicion. So it would be a larger more all encompassing confidence.JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 6:06 pmOk, can you elaborate why my confidence is “me as scum happy that I am not suspicious”, and not just me being in a good mood.
The fact you ask chaqa for approval on if your confidence is too much was interesting.
Why ask chaqa?

-And just how would you know my alleged teammates are under no scrutiny? You can’t know unless you think you have found all the mafia

Okay that's interesting, can you elaborate on this a little bit?foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 12:32 pmI see we are out of sync, but nonetheless… I enjoy reading it. I likes the game. I also find that the WebDip group is particularly fun. I’ve tried playing on other sites and have concluded it’s not a game I really care to play outside this meta.

I think what makes this fun is that we know each other. Playing with randos is less fun because it doesn’t matter what happens or what you do. You can suck ass and then leave forever.

Okay so what was the connection between your thoughts there? Why did you ask me about Diplomacy?ghug wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 4:46 pmLast game turned out to not be about reading people.Frogsterking wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 9:31 amI've played elsewhere. What do you mean by "doesn't sound like last game" ?
Re: Mafia 86: Accidents Happen... - Game Thread
I would assume it means you are scum with either sweet or chaqa who championed how supposedly towny you are (probably not both)JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 7:45 pm

It makes some sense as it being sweet as hardly anyones scumreading him.
But overall if you are scum theres a very large pool of players not under scrutiny.
Im not sure these are bad answers you are giving but they dont seem to be landing as town mindset
