This feels like a very townie post from sweet. Both perceptive and critical of brain’s position, and willing to accept criticism and not overly fight back against the scumreading. Nuanced and broad in the way that is more natural to town. I think that makes it worth townleaning sweet.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 3:58 amSays the guy not voting Bunny to the guy actually voting Bunny.brainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 2:04 amThis is also called hedging.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 2:00 am
I can. A judge has to weigh both sides of an argument. I want to judge as accurately as possible.
Some of Bunny's posts can be excused as satire. Some look suspiciously fake.
Holding both sides of a stance as being valid in order to mask knowing too much information.
it is also possible to just not know. Maybe youre not scum with bunny. Maybe bunny is just bunny. In fact yea he probably is. Town. Yes maybe sweet is also town.
See.
What I did.
But okay, I guess you are right that people would view that as hedging. That really explains previous instances where I was scumread for behaving this way. I've never understood it until now because it never crossed my mind that I could be considered as hedging.

I noticed this as well but don’t find it inherently scummy for brainbomb to make leaps in logic (although I won’t give him town points for doing so).ghug wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 4:04 amI think you're doing the thing where you take two things someone has said and assume they're connected.
ghug and brain not scum together
and then later
ghug scum
does not imply
brain scum if ghug town
I do find it interesting that ghug seems to be investing more energy into correcting others than making his own insights.

I’m actually shocked. I would’ve sworn it’d been a long time between those posts. Maybe I took a break in between? I dunno why I had that impression.

food gets it.
Also I think this is the first time I’ve ever learnt something about food that stuck with me: he GMs with sacrificial dice and will sacrifice TPK to keep them feed from the spirit world.

Jimbo seems off. Not scummy off. But like distracted off.
He can’t decipher ghug’s bad rhetoric to see he mistranslated the logic. He hasn’t read food closely enough to see the D&D posts.
Anyways, food seems to be obv towning a bit better now.

Wait, Bunny, I think I have got it. And yes, if so, Ghug summary was the incorrect part.

In the first instance nothing is implied about Ghug being town, you accused Ghug of being scum.
Ghug is deliberately turning the equation around to present himself as the "town" variable. Which is the opposite of what Bunny suggested.

Well honestly it’s just a vibe I got after seeing someone else point it out, but the “Give me reads on 5 players” was really sus.foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 12:35 pmI am trying to avoid leaning on meta too much, but Frog does not seem to be playing materially different from last game. Is there any post in particular that seems fake?
This makes me think that Frog was trying to get Chaqa to say someone was mafia-leaning to make Chaqa an outsider to that person. Bonus points if more than one!
Usually I really hate this kind of arbitrary speculation from others but I actually think I could be right about this.
Re: Mafia 86: Accidents Happen... - Game Thread
yea I think frog probably thinks this is what he does as town
However. No two games are alike anyway as bunny and chaqa have so eloquently illustrated.
so this could be frog trying to assert what he lacked last game where he had only townreads and struggled to find ways to pressure people.
Last game his townreads were based on interactions it seemed like. It came off as kinda scummy in its execution.
Its a small sample size of comparison.

That's funny because I thought he was a little different. Can't put my finger on it, but he is not bothering me as much.foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 12:35 pmI am trying to avoid leaning on meta too much, but Frog does not seem to be playing materially different from last game. I think his Town play is actually incredibly easy to copy as Mafia, so I'm annoyed by Heart towning him for just playing how he did last game (pretty sure Heart towned him last game for the exact same reasons).

To be fair though, Frogster played very well last game, and I see no reason for him to change.brainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 4:00 pmyea I think frog probably thinks this is what he does as town

Correct that this is NAI for brainbomb.foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 12:45 pmI noticed this as well but don’t find it inherently scummy for brainbomb to make leaps in logic (although I won’t give him town points for doing so).
I do find it interesting that ghug seems to be investing more energy into correcting others than making his own insights.
This is also typical ghug. I always find myself agreeing with him and consequently scumreading him (from paranoia). So far he is null for me, but that's probably because we haven't substantially interacted yet.
