I have always found the rule against talking at night, on some other sites, totally impossible to understand.

It basically means if you're not on the Mafia team, there's a period of 24 to 48 hours (depending on phase length) where you're just not allowed to participate.

I like how we do things here.

1) scum will have game solved much faster and know powers to target before we benefit

2) if scum have influence over choice of order they can manipulate things

So I don’t mind the plan so much but would like to add some crypto:

1) use math so nobody chooses the order
2) when you announce your results:

If you got fail, then announce
Otherwise announce both your real result and a result you cannot possibly get. So if you die, we know your real result.

This allows town to solve, while hiding from scum who is who.

Modifications likely good, but the idea of encrypting results is important.

Because the GM posted the "PLEASE HOLD" message about 30 seconds after the timer the bot uses decided the phase had ended.

The GM chose to accept all votes up to "PLEASE HOLD" including my vote for Lfischl, and Lfischl's vote for Will. Speaking as a regular GM, this is the correct adjudication.

brain [say] nominates person X

X picks a number 1 to 5 and person Y

person Y picks person Z

Z picks up or down.

The number & up/down determines who you should target

e.g 3 up BK3K targets sweet

This seems random enough.

We need to decide relatively quickly though please so everyone knows what we are doing.

We can just go alphabetically where everyone targets the next in line because alignments and roles were randomized by the GM.

Scum would know if they were targeting a town or fellow scum. Suggest avoiding the obvious jic this gives some kind of advantage (haven't given it deep thought though).

It’s as random as anything we can come up with, it’s simple and straightforward, and I think that debating the approach just opens us up to scum misleading us. I think going alphabetical is nice and simple and avoids confusions.

But I won’t belabour it more than that. Like you said we need to decide ASAP. I will go along with whatever plan town agrees to.
