Re: Mafia 85: Return from Lockdown
bozo is usually more forceful than this in their mech planning correct? I was expecting more because of this statement:
I think this is a set up that probably can be broken mechanically so it feels like they have things left unsaid.worcej wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 1:24 amHard agree. i) Their alignment, and
ii) IF their alignment is Mafia, the identities of their team-mates.
So it's essentially a pure vanilla D1.
We can’t let this turn into a mech snooze fest lol

totally agree. I shortly pondered if a no-kill vote would be good, but it just loses town an opportunity to vote for a mafia AND robs town of good information before mafia could talk to each other. ESPECIALLY since mafia don't know the roles that they have, so if there is any bussing going on, I'd expect them to prefer bussing the comrade(s) they expect to perform not as good.
This post reeks so bad. In what world would town ever consider a no kill first day? We need all the information we can get... Also it deprives us a chance to kill scum.

I agree with your statement that this game very likely be mechanically forced.Frogsterking wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 6:42 pmbozo is usually more forceful than this in their mech planning correct? I was expecting more because of this statement:

True
We can’t let this turn into a mech snooze fest lol
Given that, what do you make of Bob’s (who designed the setup with MM) statement that the purpose was to avoid mechanics?

They'd have to qualify that statement a lot before I could understand it. At face value I don't understand where they're coming from because it's a role madness puzzle box setup.foodcoats wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 6:46 pmI agree with your statement that this game very likely be mechanically forced.Frogsterking wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 6:42 pmbozo is usually more forceful than this in their mech planning correct? Re: Mafia 85: Return from Lockdown
The mafia having an advantage sorting their roles is the primary reason I suggested everyone targeting the next player on the list. If all the town did this, the mafia would be forced to comply or pretend to comply, but that would come with risk. The point is there are ways we can make it more difficult for the mafia if we work together.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 3:47 pmI mean...I think talking about mechs earlier isn't *harmful* in itself, but is distracting.damo666 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 3:45 pmReasonably happy with any of the top 4 wagons although I think it a shame if frog is boiled day 1 as a seemingly experienced newb.
@Bunny care to share re mechs or is it essential to wait until night?
Btw I think Bunny likely town and I think he may be right re sweet's tell.
The biggest upshot that nobody has mentioned re: mechs is how much of an advantage the scum team has in discovering who they are and messing up any coordinated town searches after 1 night.
But as I said: too much distraction, that's what night's for.

Are you both not sharing what you think the tell is so that you can continue to use it in future games if you are correct?damo666 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 4:44 pmYes and I don't know.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 4:42 pmsweet's towniest post all game. Hahahahahahah, my innocence this game is going to rest on your ability to believe that I can make reads regardless of my alignment. And you're going to say that since you don't know I'm not scum you can't believe a thing I'm saying.
I totally called this last game!!
This is so fucked XD
##VOTE Jamiet because this really pisses me off.

Ok let's discuss this after EOD. Re: Mafia 85: Return from Lockdown
If I had a tell on anyone I would not reveal. I think that is reasonable.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 7:12 pmAre you both not sharing what you think the tell is so that you can continue to use it in future games if you are correct?
Re: Mafia 85: Return from Lockdown
Oh…just noting this for later. Really really don’t want to discuss mechs with 3.5 hours left in D1.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 6:40 pmwell, not every PR has the same power level. There are PR roles that are pretty useless (like the one that tells you who your target voted last day). So I thought that mafia would hunt for PR's with the highest powerJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 6:33 pmYou are afraid of PR hunting in a setup in which every player is a PR?
But this reminds me of the game where two people (or more) have partial information about assigned numbers. And take turns saying “I don’t know my number” until that’s enough information for someone to say “I know my number”
