I think that getting a dead-set read on an individual is not as important as setting up the alignment pairs between different players in the game. If the investigator lasts long enough, they can get pretty close to solving it, I would imagine.

But again open to others' thoughts since clearly this is controversial

I don't think it's all that controversial. Any of the four mechanisms suggested would be alright. We're debating the granular details. BUT what really matters, if at all possible, is for town to have some general agreement about which thing we are going to do. Mafia would like us to be confused.

The bold part sounds awesome; can really get us forward with a hammer end.

Ghug seems to scumread you because of your insistence that sweet tell you explicitly why he scumreads you.

Sweet seems to scumread you because you scumread him and the ensuing conversation has turned that into an argument. I would guess that your doubling down on him is not tempting him to change his mind.

I don't think either of the reasons presented by Ghug or Sweet are things that in isolation would make me scumread you. I notice that you are confrontational and you especially tend to want to get to the bottom of why people suspect you, but to me that's not towny or scummy or good or bad, it's just a fact.

I don't have an alignment read on you yet because my game-head doesn't work like that. I hope that a personality read answers your question for now.
