Re: Twenty Questions - Game 149
All we know of occupation is "academic, scientific or literary achievement." We should break that down.
Was he most famously known as a scientist?
Was he most famously known as a scientist?
Re: Twenty Questions - Game 149
Depends what you call science but in the chemistry/biology/physics definition no.
Re: Twenty Questions - Game 149
So that eliminates "scientific" from "academic, scientific or literary achievement." We are left with "academic or literary achievement".
Re: Twenty Questions - Game 149
Sorry this answer is a bit misleading because he can be described as a scientist but not what he is MOST famous for (keeping the above definition).

Is he mentioned in either of these Wikipedia lists?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_German_scientists
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_I ... scientists
(Also, just for clarification, the previous question asked if he died before 1907, not if he was born before 1907.)

If he died before 1907, he must have been born before 1907.
The only person you're truly competing against, Wesley, is yourself.

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 149
Did this person die before his 78th birthday?
If the answer is "yes", I guess Gauss.

Wooo. I had been suspecting a mathematician since your "depends on what you call science" answer. Always good to have mathematicians.
