Why?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 6:16 amIt is possible HB claimed the shot on sweetandcool after ordering a shot on ghug, taking the chance ghug was not around, but it does not seem very likely.Macca573 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 6:07 amI thought about this too, but ghug hadn't posted for 6 minutes beforehand (I thought it was longer than that but oh well)bozotheclown wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 5:45 am
I like this idea, but HB claimed the shot 12 minutes before the ghug shot was announced, I think HB would have waited to make sure ghug did not counter-claim him.
Does anyone remember if ghug is a name shower or a anonymous guest type person?
That could give HB enough time.
Also consider HB gave the order, than had to post before the second shot to remove suspicion, and the 12 minutes is just Jamie.
Maybe I'm going crazy
I think that would be more impressive than HB shooting sweetandcool himself as mafia.

Jamie, you seem to be the only one online. Do you want to talk to me? Who do you scumread right now?
Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
Notes to self but made public for critique:
Bozo: possibly shot ghug to frame me?; voted Bona; overall town feel; NULL for now
brain: uncc'd pr item claim; assume TOWN
darg: voted scumsweet; promoted item massclaim which seems more likely to be a trap for scum than an outright scum attempt; lean TOWN
DemonRHK: insufficient data; NULL
Ham: uncc'd sweet kill claim; assume TOWN
Will: votes all over the shop (incl sweet and Bona); noob; subject of ND tunnel; lean TOWN
Kak: bit quiet; stuck on darg all day; NULL
Macca: wierdly stuck on brain after his claim; full of mad tinfoilness; could be acting naively as scum?; NULL
ND: tunnelled on Will; putting in too much effort (albeit misguided) to be scum?; lean TOWN
rdr: insufficient data; NULL
Spi: new to me, seems to know what they're doing; on Bona all day; nothing standout; NULL
Vecna: insufficient data; NULL
worcej: voted sweet - astute or bus?; weirdly voted brain; quiet; NULL at best
Conclusion: (rather large) scumpool: Bozo, Demon, Kak, Macca, rdr, Spi, Vec, wor
Observation: considering size of scumpool I suspect 3 remaining scum

Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
I yet have quite a lot to read, but I do feel that the people that are actually still harping on about Will potentially being scum could do with some scrutiny.
Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
This post is actually very important I feel.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 1:32 amTown always does this; it was grossly apparent last game. So here we have ND vs Will, and Sweet vs HB.SpiritoftheRadio wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 12:12 amalso the "strongest" read on day 1 doesnt mean much, but the ND x Will argument reeks of town infighting to me. I am less sure of HB
I know that I have to stop getting into explaining myself to Sweet because it then becomes the noise that lets mafia coast under and wait it all out.
The second sentence.
HB says that him explaining himself to sweet is becoming the noise that lets the mafia coast - aka he really feels that he's being a distraction by talking to sweet.
I dont think HB ever says this as scum.
"oh yeah, me talking to my scum teammate is causing a distraction that lets the scum fly under the radar".
You just cannot make that shit up as scum.
Strong townlean on HB just for that stuff.
Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
This is also some pretty substantial reasoning on why sweet was no bueno.dargorygel wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 1:38 pm@ kak
Your vote seems random and maybe even spurious.
Admittedly, you are not pushing the wagon, but 'darg didn't do any amazing things the first few hours' is ridiculous. Who did in the first few hours?
This is a plop vote, buddy.
Find a better place.
I am staying on sweet. It has to do with that business about brain's meta analysis. Part of it is that sweet jumped on brain about it, but also wrote, in effect, that he didn't mind it so much. I think he was trying to pull votes (now or later) onto brain, setting up a misskill.
It IS a tinfoil hat. But tinfoil hat is my costume this Hallowe'en.
Pretty hard committal to being suspicious, not the typical maybe-bus behaviour.
Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
It would be pretty uncharacteristic for Rdr to hard-protect his teammate at this early stage as well.rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 2:41 pmI am still some pages behind but decided to drop some thoughts now that I have some time.
I have townleans on Kak and Spirit. Kak is a tone thing and Spirit look legit hunting, I like his posts. I think I can add Macca here too. They look town
I don't like the Sweet wagon, can't see any real reason to vote him and Darg is on my suspect list (sorry Darg, but I can't follow your logic).
HB could be scum here, his posts just look too fluffy at some points.
The others I just don't have any impressions worth of mentioning.
Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
it however is quite characteristic for brainbomb to protect teammates.
I also notice that just before this post, sweet gives a very vague lackluster read on brainbomb.
Potential connection here.

Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
Early morning concerns about jumping to conclusion about ghug's murder.
The result of ghug being town does NOT mean the murderer was scum.
Some are assuming scumkill, because ghug was town.
But why would scum use an ax that close to EoD… perhaps they feared losing their ax, but the most likely way that would happen was being axed themselves. Which the timing says otherwise. Other things happen at night, end of night… I think smart scum would wait until night. Nothing gained by an early un-discussed death of ghug.
So… maybe simply over-eager scum, yes. Ghug is often fear-killed, and someone might have just gotten antsy. Maybe something ghuggles uttered. I assume scum is not stupid enough to simply say, “ghug is suspecting me, I need to kill him NOW” and leave that obvious train of evidence. And ghug did not seem to say anything that provocative...?
Could be inexperienced scum…
Or the ghug-axer could be a townie, enthused by the success of the first axing, saying, “I will hit my likely scum candidate, too!”
And that axe-wielding townie hasn’t admitted it.
Who likes to be mocked, derided, criticized, maligned, and thought-less-of?
I could see myself tempted to do this… but I wouldn’t.
Whether town or independent scum, only from a read of conversations with or about ghug, I could see ND, brain, or perhaps macca pulling the trigger on the ax. (Yay mixed metaphor)

Well, your name is listed as 'even macca.' I only listed the three names because you three had interaction with ghug that MIGHT lead to a kill.Macca573 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 12:09 pmI appreciate that you think I'm capable of this, but I'm not that much of a changed woman. I am not sure I even believe my own tinfoil hat here... It only concerns me that we jumped to the 'scum' conclusion without discussion.

Sorting the unsortables via post count comparisons:
Demon RHK: 8 posts day 1
DemonRHK M40 (when he was a mafia goon)
13 posts day 1
Conclusions: while RHK volume is a match for his D1 scum game, the content of his posts is more straightforward here. So I think RHK maybe just posts low amounts as both alignments.

63 posts day 1 (as town)
Conclusion:
Vecna volume has changed to apathy since his gold era. but the posting style remains the same. THis could be a mafia here based on the massive volume shifts from his town meta.

Heyo braino, when you do these analysis-digs di you consider non mechanical things? Vecna made an attempt to explain (without over-explaining) his low posts. Did you consider that when slightly scum reading him?
Re: MAFIA 83: HALLOWE'EN IN THE TOYSHOP - GAME THREAD
Compare to: M75 worcej had 129 posts
I think the volume isnt a match but the style is. worcej has had alot go in out of game that has made him more laid back in these endeavors. The sheer fact he voted for sweet is a good look in and of itself when there would be no reason to be bussing there.worcej wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:44 pmYou want questions, so here:Princess Neon wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:27 pm*shrugs* it's not.
Maybe you're being genuine I have zero idea about who you are as a player. I don't care your intent though because the question never helps its bad and provides nothing to town it is meaningless. My experience level means nothing in regard to who I am as a player it never has and it never will.
You Ostensibly claim to want to know to create a profile of me as a player... ask a question that actually matters because my experience means nothing in regards to my profile. Your idea of a new or vet player actually may be fundamentally different from how I play as a new or vet player.
Would you consider yourself to be someone who buddies players regularly?
What is the most common way you have been caught as scum?
What is your opinion of Sabi’s playstyle?
What is your optimum D1 kill, assuming that no actual slip occurs and you have to just randomly pick someone?
What is the first thing you look for when you are hunting scum?
Why did you decide to try playing here?

well since the title of the study was volume comparison this was looking in a succinct way at stark differences, and isolating a post that seems the same from both instances. In vecnas case the volume doesnt match but the post style does. and the style is much easier to fake because he is a wily veteran.dargorygel wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 1:01 pm

most of my assumptions about who the remaining scum are come from the idea that sweet was the highest volume scum poster. HB is a virtual clear, will was top poster day 1 and I dont see a new scum doing that ever, ND is hawkish and has his old school massive wall cases like he used too, and bona flipped town. So for however many scum are left the place to start looking is the bottom of the volume pool, not the top.
