is this first sentence pro-killing-kak or anti-killing-kakHamilton Brian wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 4:23 pmIf we use Fox's analysis, I don't think we could do worse than make a flip of Kak.
Am I wrong here? We know it is T vs ? at this point.
The other avenue is flipping around the Damo voters and sorting them? I know that puts me in the pile but that's the game.

Also, why would we use Fox's analysis? It's clearly framed as an analysis purely focused on me, where Fox caps it all off by randomly deciding Kak is more likely Mafia.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Bona and I both put out substantial analysis, you even commented that you would read mine later. Why are you treating Fox's analysis as the only one, or at the very least as one worthy of worship?

No, but there really wasn't any justification for that conclusion.ghug wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 6:48 pmI really liked that. Do you think it's scummy?sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 5:12 pmYour analysis was on my progression, mainly in regards to Kak. I'm trying to be polite. Replace "random" with "nonsensical" and that would be a more accurate yet much less polite version of my assessment on your statements.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 6:54 pmWhat assumptions did I make? I count one, and "scum want to win outright rather than go deep" is hardly random. Maybe the assumption that scum don't do pointless vote switching?sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 6:43 pmI'm just going to wait and hear from others at this point, and EoN.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 6:38 pm
Things I think about this post:
1. The one time Sweet should be making it about himself, he doesn't.
2. Implicitly assumes Bunny and Rdr are town, does not seem to leave room for the chance that Bunny and/or Rdr are scum (in which case it would be a good thing for them to have to figure out how to wriggle out of the scenario Sweet posits).
3. Really leans into a "lone scum mastermind orchestrating Day 1 outcome" theory when hopefully everyone knows that's not a thing.
4. Before I move my vote from Damo to Sweet, the wagons are:
Kak (3)
Damo (3)
Sweet (2)
Ghug (2)
So if I'm scum, I moved my vote off a townie, onto another townie, and then finished voting on Kak, whom Sweet townreads. So if Kak is town and I'm scum, then I've done this dance from townie to townie to townie for no good reason.
The only way Sweet's analysis of me as scum makes sense is if Kak is also scum, and I bussed him. And it would be a good bus for scum wanting to go deep, but I don't think scum want to go deep, I think they want to win on D3. But in any case, Sweet doesn't think Kak is scum, so this isn't really a viable theory for him.
You keep making random assumptions in order to make these conclusions and it has become too frustrating to continue dealing with this for the moment.
Random... You keep using that word...![]()

I often don't follow your reasoning, and that's why I interrogate your posts so much, but I do not make the mistake of assuming that you are not reasoning thoughtfully about the game or that you are not an intelligent player. I would appreciate it if you would give me the same benefit of the doubt.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 7:15 pmI'm trying to be polite. If you're worried about being polite, it's not about the word you choose, it's about the assumptions you make.
Re: M82: Magic the Gathering Mafia [Game Thread]
It triggered more there. In the VCA it didn’t register as much because people often try to be impartial in the VCA. Sweet was going back and forth on whether he could be scum/town in the VCA.

Which suggests towniness.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 7:13 pmNo, but there really wasn't any justification for that conclusion.ghug wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 6:48 pmI really liked that. Do you think it's scummy?sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 5:12 pm

Re: M82: Magic the Gathering Mafia [Game Thread]
that sounds ... actually quite correct and logical. Maybe we should do this to sort others out. I will say though, it also reminds me of the collected, calm and logical fox that turned out to be mafia, so don't expect me to give you townpoints for that.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 4:40 pmI would recommend that Kak, Sweet, and I should not be wagons on D2.
We'll be starting D2 with 6 town and 3 scum. I don't think both Kak and Sweet are scum, and I think there's a reasonable chance that neither of them are. That means that looking elsewhere is likely to be more worthwhile. If we spend a lot of time on D2 processing the three of us and we're wrong, we're going to go into KiLo on D3 with very little information.

You're saying one time while I was scum, I did a thing that makes good sense as town, and therefore... what? You're not saying I'm scum, you're just throwing shade in a way that you don't have to justify, I guess.
Is this a thing I also do as town? Or do I only do this as scum?
Re: M82: Magic the Gathering Mafia [Game Thread]
So I was thinking about the voting on D1 and how mafia would behave, and bona's questioning about my world view triggered my thoughts for making a PoE, and as Eden said, the game is won if you recognize enough town and I'm better at identifying town than I am mafia.
therefore, I'll try to copy eden here and proclaim my
TOWNCORE:
rd (with a townlock for me)
sweet looks pretty towny to me, pretty sure sweet isn't mafia
ghug (well people thought he still could be mafia with fox or something but I saw enough things that look towny that I put him in here, even if he may not like it)
TOWNPERIPHERIE: (pretty much towncore but with some issues)
bona something feels different about bona so I'm not giving him a clear to enter the towncore. But as with worcej, I don't see anything that would make me say "he's mafia".
worcej pretty tight-lipped, there might be a fox connection and the steady voting for me felt kinda bad. There wasn't much that would make me say "he's mafia" though. Also him voting the same person as Vecna and fox makes him look towny (since I don't think all three mafia would be on the same target), so I kinda think the chances worcej is town this game is not low.
POE:
bunny bunny here feels a bit much, but he was on a wagon where he is the most likely mafia (and ghug only voted sweet to avoid a tie). Bunny here fits the "mafia was content with the day and laid back" theory. I give him a bit town points though for the 'sweet rush' action. Still, I think he should be in the POE right now.
Vecna lazy uncommunicative Vecna is maf-Vekna. Well maybe it's town-Vecna just sleeping, but then he should really wake up. But right now I just see him trying to buy as much time as he can.
brian hasn't done anything I'd say is towny. Seems to just float around existing. The one voting damo that looks like having the biggest chance of being mafia.
fox I think fox has a great chance of being mafia. Well I'm a bit swayed by ghug and maybe I'm wrong about fox and sorting others out, namely the other three up (or rather down) here, but still don't forget about fox.
