Edi Birsan played on this site quite a bit, but it was years ago. It appears he last visited webDip on 18th Mar 2013. His win % was 33% which is pretty damn high.

I suppose that depends on whether he played most of his games before they invented the draw button. Back when you needed mod intervention to achieve a draw solos were far more common. Facebook Diplomacy kept using the (very) old webDip system for quite a lot of the 2010s before it died off, which is where I experienced the delights of it

He was perhaps the greatest game designer, but a pretty mediocre player of the game. If you had the man who invented golf play against peak Tiger Woods there would be no contest, and it is the same with diplomacy

The mistake Ginge is making is trying to get a game going on the basis of him being the greatest, which is clearly laughable as he's short of the top ten in a ratings system that people stopped caring about years ago. He seems to be a half decent player, but a hell of a long way from being the best.

What he should be doing is playing to his strengths, and trying instead to create a game to give people the chance to defeat one of the most irritating arseholes remaining on the forum. That's what the old great forum personalities would have done, and indeed did so on various occasions

We have played exactly 26 each, I have won 7, you have won 3. The vast majority of the games are BOT games so I could learn the game. As I said, only found this hobby about a year and half ago, 7 months break from playing in-between. So I have played about a year total.

Even back when people cared about them (the forum used to be full of angry posts if the ratings updates weren't displayed on time every month) they didn't really mean anything. I do agree, I just like seeing the number go up lol
Plus I am big on fairness, I do not like it when a game becomes biased by external factors. So I can be frustrated when that happens. But yeah, rating tables are going a bit far lol.

To be clear, I completely expect to get my arse kicked lol.
I just want to try a game against the best and what better way than to bait them into a game using my amazing stats lmao.
Perhaps afterwards I can get some feedback on my game, if any of the players would be kind enough that is.
