Well done.

Defying the tyranny of the Olympic gods by stealing fire for the humans (and with it technology and civilisation), Prometheus is the champion of humanity.

In turn humans where punished by Pandora's box, bringing all the evils to mankind. (compareable to the Expulsion from the Garden of Eden after eating from the tree of knowledge).

This can be interpreted as humans being punished for striving for more than what nature has to offer to the hunter and gatherer, by the hardships of agricultre and the problems of the resulting population growth (wars, germs, cliimate change etc.).

Prometheus means forethought (contrary to his brother Epimetheus, who despite the warning actually opened the box) so maybe he saw it all coming (inkluding his own harsh punishment) and nevertheless decided no one has the right to withhold knowledge be it blessing or curse.

So here we are and isn't it all worth it?
