webDiplomacy on the Phone
How many players have encountered the excuse "sorry, I was playing on my phone" when putting in orders? I don't use my phone when playing, so I am unaware of the issue. Is it legitimately hard to read from a phone? Should the site be adjusted to better accommodate this with the growing usebof the apparatus? The reason I ask is, I've now encountered this apology a number of times.

What Durga said ^^
We have a mobile site interface that works well. Misorders happen, but we've made some pretty big changes to accommodate people playing on phones.

I've played live games on my phone. I don't see a problem.
The best players in the world "misorder". Often, to your disadvantage. I don't see how any system will prevent that.

Re: webDiplomacy on the Phone
I had some problems with the phone, it's easier to misorder and I have lost games because of that. The main problem is when you have a lot of units, it's easier to click in the wrong list and enter a wrong order. I usually triple check my orders when on phone and I mostly play only on phone now.
Save and Ready aren't a problem.

Re: webDiplomacy on the Phone
I've had problem with save on the phone. Seems like it saved, but it didn't save. I usually use the PC interface. I attribute it to carelessness, but it still happens often enough to make it a good excuse.
Re: webDiplomacy on the Phone
I have wondered if this is the case because I may have experienced it a time or two as well, which is why I try my absolute hardest to use my computer to put in orders.
If that is the case and it's not just a biased feeling that a few of us share, it is a problem on our phone or browser's end with processing the save order, not on webDiplomacy's. There isn't much we could do about it without having an independent app and we don't have any experienced app developers on board or the resources to actually get that done.

Re: webDiplomacy on the Phone
I’ve had the problem but the general trend for me when that happens is spotty connectivity.
Re: webDiplomacy on the Phone
I have literally never played on PC. I only use my phone and I've never had an issue with saving orders. The only issues I've found are the known one with colourblind mode, which is fine so long as I only play Anc. Med. and classic and the fact that if you accidentally set an order to itself (I.e. if Venice was on hold and you open the order menu but then decide to leave it on hold) the order won't save but all the others will.

In my experience...
Yes, there's a higher chance of misorder or unsaved orders while playing on mobile
No, it's not the site's fault.
It's mostly a PICNIC issue (problem in chair, not in computer). However, I don't think Diplomacy is a game that lends itself well to a mobile format even if we did have a dedicated app, especially, as rdrivera said, you have a very long list of orders and possible moves.
