What problem do you have with actual investiagtion
I think your method works well for you, brainbomb, and I think you get the attention of more people than you think. But I can't be convinced purely on meta.
Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
I read everything brain.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 7:48 pmim gonna go out on a limb here and say that you did not read even 2 sentences from that case.ghug wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 7:36 pmThere's way too much evidence, so I have a hard time seeing a way evidential analysis can avoid confirmation bias or at least suffer from being a random subset of all of the evidence.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 6:47 pmghug why do you always dismiss cases rooted in evidence. are you just totally against the case style of play where you present facts about a post or series of posts and explain why those posts are scummy. you seem to just ignore things like that and always just hipfire everything you do.

I don't even think your HB case is meritless, since it's more meta than evidential. I just don't really agree with it and if you're going to present it as having to be true I want to hear how he's different as town.

Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
You’re wrong about this logic but also I think it’s pretty unnecessary for you prod damo like this.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 7:50 pmhes trying to twist things to make it seem scummy to try to solve the remaining pairs which is only harmful if all pairs left at T/T which he isnt claiming, so hes acting like its imperative the last 3 be kept secret when it could just be the mafia is in all the last 3.
Also, to get back to this game, I personally don’t think you pulling info from prior games is that useful for proving a case about hb. However, it is useful for showing how strongly you feel about him being scummy.
Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
the case shows how hes different as town and as 3p. the reads are completely different in every way when he is mafia.
do you need me to put them side by side in an image or something?

I’d guess exactly one is probably lurking in that case. I think it’s too obvious if a misdirection otherwise.

hmm, would maf-jamie and maf-damo do this whole exchange? ... I'm pretty sure not. I think it is save to say, that those two aren't mafia together.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 2:39 pm##Vote Damo

Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
Oh yeah that reminds me. I asked Jamiet to brainstorm any reasons why a fake claim could be good (or bad).Kakarroto wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 7:44 pmGesundheitJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 9:06 amMy dance partner and I declared a toast to the king.
He calculated the odds of having a scum dance partner as 23.1%.
He felt if two dance partners trusted each other they could scumhunt as a pair.
We discussed whether a mass claim was a good idea. He felt that on balance it was bad for town.
I used a German word and he asked me about it.
He suggested a potential town benefit to fake claiming partners.
I did not come up with any good reason, but I did point out it wasn't unviable risky because the real partner could bail them out.
Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
Somewhat buy the logic, but like what it says about Kak more.

Considering eod is in 3 hours, it would be nice for rdr and vecna to show up and vote.

Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
Is anyone going to comment on this? It seems incredibly scummy. Come back brainbomb, what do you think of Kak?Kakarroto wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 7:40 pmright now (page 29 info): hmm, well, since I'm voting ezio and I've seen him posting, I'll first ##unvote since what I've seen looks more like lazy town (or RL is important-town) than mafia. I'm not very confident in that right now, but at least more than in others so I don't want to vote ezio out today.
Vecna was very desinterested in the game, I mean it might be just even lazier town, but whereas ezio showed signs to want to know things and asks stuff, Vecna was just ... shortly here. Maybe that chances in the next pages, but meh. Totally unimpressed. I'm cautious of voting lurker out since I was told gamewise it's kinda bad play, but still I don't like the lurk-gamestyle and lurk-na stood out of the bunch with it.
for the second, something about aaro-damo pinged me, maybe it's just the same thing as a few games ago the bozo-argument I had where bozo and worcej were on one side and RD and some others and I on the other side. It turned out that the loudest there were all town and maf just hid. Maybe sweet is part of this too, I don't have the clean townread for sweet like in last game, but I also don't have a maf-read. Probably different vibes here.
Huh, not much left. I'm pretty sure brain and worcej are town this game. Chaqa I lean towards slight town. I like jamie so far this game, RD is RD so until a few days he get the usual time from me. Ezio ... well a light townlean, but I really want to see more from him. Hamilton, I'd say is also a light townlean, I don't like that he has me as potential mafia but as I had a very dizzy day yesterday, I can see where he comes from.
demonRHK ... I don't know. Probably null. Maybe I should have a closer look at him when I'm finished reading.
then probably actually someone from aaro-damo-sweet. I need to entangle that here, and it's connected to too much mechanical stuff.
Oh right, I nearly forgot ghug. Cheebus, ghug is way off my radar, I mean I read some posts from him, I recall even liking posts from him ... but it feels like he isn't in this game. That's not good. I mean I wouldn't say it's maf ghug, but boy, something doesn't add up, either somethings up with ghug or my attention.
Well, so back to the question: currently I think it's Vecna with one of (aaro-damo-sweet-ghug). Hmm ... that's right, there is one known team of aaro-ghug, as far as we know, so maybe we should clear that ... I guess I try this: ##vote ghug
Kak just seems to be shilling common opinions but in a very noncommittal way.
Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
well regarding that, normally I'm a nightowl, so it's unfair to compare other europeans with my biorythm. I also waited for the beginning of day 1 to play a bit. My current situation is that I don't have to work as long as usual this week so I could play on my afternoon, but I also missed yesterday because of the heat in my flat and today I'm between brainfrost from ice consum and overheating (my stomach can only take so much ice)brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 3:16 pmthis is an odd thing to say on Jamie's behalf, because Kakarrotto is in an even more disconnected time zone, and had no issue posting. And then Vecna had more issues with posting than Jamie. and there is no mention of this.DemonRHK wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 3:22 pmGood morning everyone. Caught up while I am working. Brain is tunneling me, which is fine. I was one of the few people to interact with his opening post so I made myself an obvious and easy target for now.
What stuck me in the catch upo is:
- People calling out Jamie at MIDNIGHT IN THE US. Phase change is at like 1 AM there? I'm shocked there was even a post at game start.
- Brain complaining about the thread being choked by mech talk. It's D1 in a PR-less game. Mech is all there is. Open discussion, review opinions, form conclusions.
As far as reads, it's a little early for me to have super strong opinions, but I am not liking aaro and sweet a ton. Ghug is iffy. Worc likewise.
Brain is in his town meta but that doesn't sell me. I'm trying to toss meta out for now.
In relation to the mechs and claiming and crap. I feel that it's been looked at very one dimensionally. The clarification that 'all the single ladies' night chat is accessable night to night is a large town advantage, and I think any tonal shifts in stance on claim immediately afterward are scum indicative.
anyway, that's what I wanted to say about that, but it IS strange that there is no mentioning about Vecna or damo in that regard. (hit me if I miss someone else but I think that's everyone from here?) Then again, it was, as far as I saw, only discredited for jamie. Still, there might be some connection between those two?

Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
Vecna being absent makes me feel stronger about them having scum vibes. Lurking at this point is probably a decent scum strat to make people forget about you, especially with how much movement usually happens at eod. I feel like someone that’s town would be incentivized to contribute more.aarodactyl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 8:04 pmConsidering eod is in 3 hours, it would be nice for rdr and vecna to show up and vote.
I feel similarly about rdr even if they’ve been posting more.
All that said, idk most people’s time zones. So if I’m inadvertently complaining about someone not voting at like 5am for them, let me know.

ok, this seems like a typical normal explanation. I at least buy it.

I fully intended to post nothing but memes, but I didn't want to mess with Rivera.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 7:44 pmhe got mad about having to prove himself in this game because he already did last game. and he seems to think his clout has earned him a day 1 pass because of how much effort he gave prior game. And I agree with him he does deserve some peace for at least 1 day to just play relaxed
Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
Chaqa, if you're town and wrong about me here, will you stop trying to claim you're good at reading me?
