I dont understand how you can go from a game where you had rigid hard defenses of players like myself, Jamie, Bunny, to having zero of those kinds of reads 1 game later, when the only detail thats changed is you arent a PR townleader.

I'm glad you are admitting this. I feel like between this and your earlier test claiming your partner was Mafia, you've had good ideas but have been way too obvious about them. Your Town lost was too lazy, and gave too many free passes. Ghug and I both saw through it (I hated the list, additionally because of its beginnings, and ghug commented by asking if it was deliberately provocative). Consequently, nobody cared, or at least in my case you were scumread for it.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 2:25 pmit worked very effectively last game to establish a baseline and with reactions from Eden and ghug town ultimately caught ghug, with your help and expertise on him. But the readslist also had flum and pyxxy below the baseline and ghug was visibly not happy about the reads list.
For me it proved to be an effective way to garner reactions.
I think the problem this game was too few people even cared about my reads, they didnt react. in fact the only reaction seemed to be indifference. I rushed to put it together more than I should have, and gave way too many people fee passes to the town section for minimal things. I did this hoping to annoy someone or get a scum reaction of nervousness. but the problem I face now is, what if I just loaded the whole townside with scum, then they have nothing to gripe about.
So I suspect the reads were just bad, and didnt listen enough to everyone else. I was somewhat counting on you chaqa to be part of the process, to work with me like we worked together last game. And that we found a middle ground and you shared some expertise reads with us.

I think it's a small enough list to be reasonable but given the mechanics of this game I think it's probably more useful to be a little more flexible.
I've been thinking about it and I think our goal is just to break up pairs.
Although I don't want to vote worcej, because I put him through some really stressful stuff in the pregame chat and he came off pretty towny.

How many of those had I actually locked in on by this point in Day 1?
Mid-Game Chaqa vs. Day 1 Chaqa
Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
If I recall you went very deep into townreading bunny based on a read I made of all things. and I think you solidly townread me most of that game from day 1 onward. without much waivering

Friend, I find this post pretentious and I do not like it. I almost read it like a laren that got her way over a retail employee and them told them how to do their job.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 2:56 pmI'm glad you are admitting this. What a bizarre reaction. I've hardly won a battle with Brainbomb, so I'm not really in such a position.DemonRHK wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 2:59 pmFriend, I find this post pretentious and I do not like it. Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
Anyone can be townleader in a setup like this. but I usually play better when there is a more stoic player who stands in the firing line, who I can bounce ideas off of. Someone like Eden for example who is invested in peoples opinions and knows how to ask the right questions.
If you put me out in the front line and expect me to hold up for a full 48 hour day 1 as the focused and competant townleader you will ultimately lose momentum because I am not mentally built for that position. I change my mind too often to be followed, and my style is not great for clinging to a truth and forcing others to have to navigate around me. I am not an immovable object, I am actually very malleable and can change on a dime. You cant let someone like me direct town because I cant even direct myself most games.

Oops, my mind skipped the last line and didn't fully comprehend it. Okay good, because worcej is my only strong townread.Chaqa wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 3:02 pmI don't, Larensweetandcool wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 3:01 pmWhy do you want to vote worcej?? :OChaqa wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 2:57 pm

I nominate worcej as town leaderbrainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 3:03 pmAnyone can be townleader in a setup like this. but I usually play better when there is a more stoic player who stands in the firing line, who I can bounce ideas off of. Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
And you know we aren't scum buddies since we're dance partners, so either:
I'm scum and he's town
or I'm town and I think he's town
I'm scum and he's town
or I'm town and I think he's town
Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
my reads list was about trying to make myself an immovable force, and push the boundary to make mafia go into a panic and despondent mode.
So, all I can assume is that maybe the list was correct when it included ezio in the scumpool, and then when ezio and damo got moved to town the list itself started to be real muddy

Re: M81: A Night To Remember [GAME THREAD]
this is an odd thing to say on Jamie's behalf, because Kakarrotto is in an even more disconnected time zone, and had no issue posting. And then Vecna had more issues with posting than Jamie. and there is no mention of this.DemonRHK wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 3:22 pmGood morning everyone. Caught up while I am working. Brain is tunneling me, which is fine. I was one of the few people to interact with his opening post so I made myself an obvious and easy target for now.
What stuck me in the catch upo is:
- People calling out Jamie at MIDNIGHT IN THE US. Phase change is at like 1 AM there? I'm shocked there was even a post at game start.
- Brain complaining about the thread being choked by mech talk. It's D1 in a PR-less game. Mech is all there is. Open discussion, review opinions, form conclusions.
As far as reads, it's a little early for me to have super strong opinions, but I am not liking aaro and sweet a ton. Ghug is iffy. Worc likewise.
Brain is in his town meta but that doesn't sell me. I'm trying to toss meta out for now.
In relation to the mechs and claiming and crap. I feel that it's been looked at very one dimensionally. The clarification that 'all the single ladies' night chat is accessable night to night is a large town advantage, and I think any tonal shifts in stance on claim immediately afterward are scum indicative.
