Blood on the clock tower
Has anyone played it? Is there an online version?
For those who don't know, Blood on the Clock tower is a more complex version of Mafia.
I didn't enjoy my first game but repeated play made me fall in love with it
Not sure how the two games compare side by side.

It sounds interesting. I've never played it.
Why don't you ever sign up for our Mafia games here? Give it a shot, you'd be welcome.

I prefer playing in person, tbh. Haven't gotten a game in a while.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 12:15 pmIt sounds interesting. I've never played it.

How is Mafia played on the site?! Do you do voice chat on discord?
Here is a shut up and sit down review of the game if you want to spend 22 minutes hearing about Blood on the Clock tower: https://youtu.be/ImcG8sC7qT4

Re: Blood on the clock tower
The Mafia (evil minority) get a Discord chat at night, but that's typed chat not voice chat.

Ok, yeah, i have been spoiled by too many games of Mafia/Werewolves in person.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 7:01 pmThe Mafia (evil minority) get a Discord chat at night, but that's typed chat not voice chat.
I can't imagine playing without voice and preferable video conferencing for the day time conversation.
Among Us, likewise terrible game without that level of communication in my experience. I really disliked playing it with random strangers..

It's simply a different dynamic. You have to learn to read people based on what they *write* rather than what they *say* or reading from their facial expressions, etc.orathaic wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 11:52 pmOk, yeah, i have been spoiled by too many games of Mafia/Werewolves in person.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 7:01 pmThe Mafia (evil minority) get a Discord chat at night, but that's typed chat not voice chat.

But if you're not up to the challenge, that's okay.

I may in fact, not be up to the challenge. But the main reason being i don't enjoy doing that as much as i do playing the other way.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 12:32 pmIt's simply a different dynamic. Diplomacy is similar, better in person for negotiating, but it has so much meat to discuss (tactically) and in person games take too long. That i don't think it loses as much for being an text based interface.
Whereas Mafia, i love far too much in the in-person variant.
