tying it today is simply suboptimal for scum because it tells us 1) there was scum on the block and 2) who one of the scum is. there's no reason for it to happen. i am completely unsure why you are so hung up on this

tieing likely uses up one of our miskills, so it's a one to one trade in favour of scum, but we lose a flip essentially. Unless there's two deep threats, I suspect scum would try to tie it.
