So I asked a more specific version of this question last game about pyxxy, rdrivera, bozo and damo but this time ill ask a much broader more open ended thing to help me. Who are the players that game after game you find yourself saying are Town Assets? Which players do you feel most strongly about when seeing their posts; that you are able to say to yourself: yea thats my top town?

Those are two different questions.

For the first one, players in this game are Flum, damo, bona, Eden.

For the second, damo, brain, Worcej. I always townread Flum correctly but he's never scum so I could just be miscalibrated.

If he's scum, I think Flum is a good bet given his vote bouncing.

If he's town, I don't think it tells us that much, so I default to like Eden/Bona/Flum.

Here's a long succession of posts where Ghug was refusing to vote for Fluminator despite saying he would vote for Fluminator:

I expect you to now vote Flum.

That's the point.

Which maybe makes sense if I think Bozo's likely to be town, but I don't, so I can vote him. Or I can vote Eden, who I also think is likely to be scum regardless of bozo's alignment.

You just said you would suspect Flum if Bozo flipped town or if he flipped scum, but yet you don’t want to vote Flum? This is really weird and I feel like I’ve caught you.

I'm saying that flum's odds go up specifically if bozo is scum and my reads would otherwise look pretty similar. That fact pushes Flum over bona for me, who are probably equal if bozo is town, but it still leaves Eden and bozo as my top scumreads.

I'm trying to decide if Chaqa makes sense as a bozo teammate. My conditional Flum/bozo read was out there already and I'm really struggling to imagine him actually coming to this shitty "give me your reads for each of bozo's alignments" -> "now vote someone on both lists instead of bozo" logic in good faith. Does he do all that heavy bozo defending early D1 if they're teammates, though?

I literally presented the two possibilities for his role and asked who you would suspect in those cases, then asked you to vote for the person you suspected regardless of Bozo's alignment.

To me it's super simple and the fact you're being stubborn about it rather than just being like "yeah I would vote Flum but I'm not right now for xyz reason"

I said I would vote Flum but he's not my top choice. I said that before you pushed on it.

How do you not see how shitty this logic is? You could do the same exercise with any player, and it would always break down when you ask to not vote for the player in question, which means ultimately you're just defending bozo in this weird, backwards way. If you asked me to do the same exercise with Flum, bozo would be on both lists. Does that mean I should vote bozo and not Flum?

Why would I be? I've said he's third, not first, and even if he were first, I'd still probably be working to make second a wagon given that his is doing just fine without me. The most generous interpretation of Chaqa's thought exercise was that he wanted to see who'd be on the table if I didn't go after bozo, which still means that my answer doesn't immediately become my votes. The less generous interpretation is that he's attacking me for not refusing to vote for bozo.

If your issue is that you buy Chaqa's entire logical process, I'll repeat the argument I gave him: repeat the same exercise with Flum instead of bozo and bozo is an answer to both, which means using it to argue I need to be voting specifically Flum obviously doesn't make sense.

If your issue is that I didn't list Eden in the top bucket, Flum's the only person whose scum equity specifically goes up if Bozo's scum, so I discussed him. I thought saying that my reads wouldn't change on anyone else if he flipped town made it clear enough that I suspect Eden and Bona regardless, but maybe it didn't?

You've kind of shifted on Eden, but I also think Bunny would be a pretty unfortunate kill and still would strongly prefer to get bozo or Flum to him.

Ghug actually got pretty annoyed with people for questioning his unwillingness to vote for Flum (while continuing to assert that he would happily vote for Flum, while not doing so).
