“Don’t fret, my dear toys! You will all be sold soon enough!” Old Man Jeffrey was having such great business lately! So many toys were just flying off the shelves, headed to their forever homes.
“Ah, Billy, good lad, come have a look at this action figure!”
Billy pranced over, excited. A 5-year-old and his action figures, of course he had to buy it! Another good sale, another happy customer.
Oh, but poor Billy didn’t even make it out the door before yet another mysterious toy death occurred. Unbeknownst to Jeffrey, the toys had already taken this one’s head off. It promptly fell to the floor.
Billy’s mom arrived on the scene, ready for battle.
“Oh bloomin eck ya bloody wanka, wat the fook did ye sell me son?!”
Jeffrey looked up. He prepared himself. He knew what was coming. “Don’t get shirty with me, madam! That’s mint, that is! Collectible, they say! And it was only 400 quid!”
“Aye! I’ll give ye a buncha fives if ye don’t take it back!” She slammed what was left of the action figure down, and Jeffrey just sighed. He processed the return, handed the woman her money, and she left without even a toodle pip on the way out the door.
Billy cried. Jeffrey got a bad review on Yelp that day.
