So they really truly did just shorten the day instead of jailing the cop.

Neat
The person intending to jail him could have been RBed or jailed or something by town, right?
maybe, but who would that be?

we know fox shortened the day
we know brain was jailed
the enforcer probably used the ninja ability (though maybe I assume too much)

so that would leave either spy or agent open and both have actions where we don't know that they did something (role cop, drive, track)

if there was a jail or roleblock that hit a mafia, we will probably be informed this EoN about it though, I guess, so maybe we shouldn't think too hard about that

That was unsufferable. Since he is town this time, it's not too bad.

I have not read the thread since I posted last. After taking a long break from mafia, and then getting run out on D1 last game and now this, I'm having trouble mustering the motivation.

My best guess at scum is:

Worcej
Eden
Bona
Kak

I think that after Worcej got to the scum chat last night, they realized that he wasn't going to be able to maintain the PR facade for very long and decided to go out with a bang and hopefully out a PR on the way. I had initially thought that Worcej had the suicide bomb (what a way to go), but now I see that after I flip town there's going to be a lot of "oh, it must have been the driver! I'm sowwy" So eventually the real Navigator may need to claim.

I suppose there is some chance that it was the driver. If worcej is actually a PR, then my next guesses are ghug, haze, and sweet.

I think D1 was TvT, and I think when that happens, scum tend to distribute themselves rather than clumping on the top wagons. I'm sure other people have their own ideas about how to do VCA/etc, but I'm trying to leave helpful advice.

I also recommend occasionally flipping all your reads: scum are motivated to look as towny as possible, and it's naive to think that some of them haven't fooled you.

I am unlikely to spend my day keeping up with the thread, but if you want to question me, I will try to come back in the afternoon and will search the bot for "Call Foxcastle" if you want to tag questions with that.
fox probably believes he's dead in the water at this point

marked section 2 - no one experienced is going to suddenly take this to heart, especially because he's about to flip. i therefore believe it (which jibes with my overall sense of the game, setting aside eden). i think the list of 4-6 generally going around is heavily composed of inactive and unlucky townies, and that there are deep scum.

marked section 1 - can't really be interpreted without knowing d1's schema, but he's saying that me/bongo/sweet/Xcut are likely to be 3 or more town. this intuitively seems like bullshit

I took the 2nd marked part to be a way to try to put suspicion on me without actually saying my name outright.

You talk about the timing, but kind of obfuscate that pages 51 and 58 were barely halfway through D1, i.e., Tuesday evening, i.e., still not a lot of substantive material to talk about, and not a lot of substantive material to base a vote on.

Other things that were happening at this time included Sweet and X whaling on each other about ontological epistemology, and Kak and Bona and Pyxxy having bouncing off each other about low-posting and activity levels.

So when you highlight that it was 3 hours later or 14 hours later, etc, I would counter your implication that there were better things to be talking about or voting on with the fact that there was not actually anything better to be doing. It was wandering around in the darkness, like D1 always is.

I voted Bunny early because his stunt irritated me (and my thoughts and feelings about that evolved), but you can go back and check that I'm not a hasty voter, and I also don't bounce my vote around all that much (compared to some people, anyway). Leaving my vote on Bunny was more a byproduct of indecision on where to move it to.
This response doesn't feel right for two reasons:

First of all, you said "I don't want to vote for Bunny anymore" yet left your vote there for 14 hours, but you moved your vote off him when he was tied for the lead, just after you re-appeared for the first time in quite a long time, and caught up. Kinda like you logged back into the game, saw your Bunny was in danger, and finally decided to move.

Second of all your statement that "I'm not a hasty voter, and I also don't bounce my vote around all that much" doesn't align with the fact that at 03:39 you unvoted, and then remained on "unvote" for the following three hours before moving to Eden with 00:38 left on the timer.

So why didn't you unvote BunnyGo when you said you didn't want to vote for him anymore, yet you were happy to "unvote" for a significant period, later on?
You are not reading the order of events properly.

1. I went to bed with about 19 hours to go in the day. The Worcej-Bunny PR thing had not happened yet. I was voting Bunny, although I had said I didn't want to be doing that anymore because it was clear he was keeping up with the thread and that this was a Bunny stunt.

2. I woke up and started catching up with about 9.5 hours left in the day.

3. With 8:35 to go, I am caught up and have assessed that the Worcej-Bunny PR thing probably points to town-Bunny. Previous to this, I did not think that Bunny was anything, because Bunny mostly hadn't even been here. So it was a combination of moving on from Bunny (both because the "pressure" vote in reaction to his stunt was tired and because I thought he was more likely town than scum) and getting serious about voting. So I vote Bona.

Before you pounce on it, I think that D1 voting is not really serious until the 8 or so hours before EOD. This aligns nicely with my waking hours before a 5 PM deadline, so this is just a personal perspective on how things line up in my life so that I don't have to go to bed the night before thinking about the game.

4. With 3:39 to go, I unvote. Unlike when I said I didn't want to vote Bunny 23-some hours before EOD, I think sitting on a vote with less than 4 hours to go is unadvisable. You could say that I don't care enough to unvote 23 hours out, but I do care enough to unvote 4 hours out.

5. I then spent about 2 hours working (I had to write a eulogy for someone I didn't know, which was weird and difficult) and came back to the game, caught up, decided Eden was a good choice until he claimed, and then decided I'd rather see Dousing go than Bozo, and then voted for Bozo because I would rather see Bozo go than have a tie.

In short, you're reading too much into my decision to unvote versus let my vote sit. I let my vote sit on Bunny when there was little to not urgency because it was not near EOD, and I unvoted when there was urgency near EOD.

Also, Jamie, I'm not sure what your theory is that Bunny and I are scum together. Like, walk through the theory that Bunny and I are scum together, and then walk through the theory that I'm town, and which one makes more sense?

The theory was that it went something like this:

1. You voted your team-mate Bunny because his strategy of being silent and dropping +1's did annoy you;

2. He wasn't a serious wagon when you said "I don't want to vote Bunny anymore";

3. You went to sleep.

4. You got up, checked back in, and saw that your pal Bunny now was a lead wagon, so you realised you'd better move your vote to his main counter-wagon at that time, to reduce the risk of him being flipped.

5. I questioned you about that and you said "Leaving my vote on Bunny was because of indecision" - but that appears inconsistent with your use of "unvote" later on when you wanted to move your vote.

You're defending yourself pretty well now, but I'm just explaining that the above was my thought process.
I obviously can't be objective here, but I don't think what happened makes sense as scum-scum.
those were fox's three last posts before he knew he was scanned.

it's in a dialog with jamie; while I think it looks a bit bad for bunny here, I'm not too convinced that says much. However, I doubt that jamie here is mafia with fox.

Alright, I'm going to get cooking again. I've got a few more reads left, and they're probably going to be the interesting ones. Then I'll focus on Fox and see if anything they said help sniff out teammates. Lastly, I'll look for clues in voting patterns.

The fact that Fox was Mafia and nobody has CC President Eden or Worcej clears both of them.

And keep in mind that while brainbomb says they were jailed, it isn't verified.

Agreed. who are your top three scumreads right now besides worcej?
Eden (more and more!), Kak and Bona
i recognize i have a special position here but i think this list might be entirely town
