but thats okay this way I get to stick around and kill mafia instead

I have not yet dismissed the possibility that you are just playing the role of what you think you are like as town. Something you do pretty well as scum.
Who is you? Jamiet? I can guess, but I'm not confident at all.

Imagine player Bill writes a very long post saying that brainbomb is scum.
Bill uses a ton of examples. And brainbomb doesnt read the post, skips right to the comment area and says

"what? you scumread me?"

this is an example of reactive play. Rather than question their talking points, or move on with life and make the simple logical inference that this person thinks I may be mafia, I chose to get reactive.

The only logical inferences I can make there are that bill is scum who writes really well constructed posts framing town, or that bill is town who really thinks im scum.
brainbomb, imagine someone going through peterbot and having to deal with unquoted replies that only say "you". Either quote or at least once specify who you are talking about. Unless you have a WPM of 1, it's not going to take any perceptible effort for you to do so.

Whereas, you are dooming others to either ignore what you say, or have the aggravation of puzzling over who you are currently addressing.

Communication via text is already not optimal, and it's even worse in a forum setting where tons of people are talking to each other. And that effect is very noticeable considering how frequently miscommunication has occurred in this game.

A little bit of extra clarity goes a long way. Now eat your vegetables!

in peterbot, its one click of a mouse to switch to the thread view that shows in context who "you" is referring too. If I need to take the time to type one extra word per minute, that person can make one click of a mouse in less than 3 seconds also.

So no, you go eat your wheaties boy

Is that something fakeclaiming?

M62 is a good one. Bunny fakeclaimed when caught (and lied about GM communication, so maybe not the best example), and then two VTs had competing Priest claims.
I'm not going to claim or fakeclaim anything during this phase.

I'll take a look into that and get back to you all a bit later. Don't wait with too much anticipation as it may lead to nothing. It's useful that you picked the example of somebody who is in this game, though.
The two VTs were HR and Balki, and I was the real Priest. I figure that might aid in finding the claims themselves.
Wasn’t there a game with aarodactyl where several people took turns protecting a PR so they could buy time to scan?

Im now just imagining this poor sap who spends hours on the peterbot reading posts, going half blind and wondering " WHO, MY GOD WHO IS HE TALKING TOO, WHERE ARE MY SPECTACLES, why is this form of reading so complicated, curse you brainbomb! I refuse the read the game thread. I refuse to even click a simple link. damn this cruel world"

there is a time where fake claims are super pro town, and in the case of eden I sensed the claim was real, so I waited til only two minutes were left to cc, and padded the cc by saying I trusted eden and he was town.

it makes it less likely a flash wagon shifts back to eden and it leaves it up for mafia to not know which of us was real. but eden started getting mentioned as being a vig shot, so obviously the fakeness has to end
Yeah and this 100% was one of them. Based on the confusion everywhere in the thread, I thought the play had a really good chance of working, but the vig threat blew it up.

Which I don’t fault fwiw — it’s unfortunate but I can’t really put myself in the shoes of an outside observer on this one, so I have no way to say it wasn’t reasonable to start discussing vigging me.
How come you didn't realise there was a vig?

Weren't you involved in reviewing the setup?

Well, now you know a reason why you might be ignored. And you've complained quite a bit about being ignored.

I tried to help, but you've got to be willing to help yourself, little fella.

To whom are you speaking?

For what it's worth, I've been mostly keeping up with the thread. Peterbot is for deeper dives into the past, which I've only done a couple times so far.

this isnt a real argument before this gets out of hand. like no one is actually gonna jump off a bridge.

while were at it, why arent you offended by people who invent abbreviations, or use emojis. those also make the bot harder to read, and harder to use the search tools.

ok im done now. ill try to be more considerate of adding names of who im talking too, Jamie and Sweetandcool

Of course, it's lazy not to bother looking through 100+ pages of comments for one particular comment.

Thank you. And for what it's worth, I do agree with that.

I'm not worked up about this, so I'm glad we're not going to turn this into a bizarro talking point.

We're cool (:

Dear SweetandCool,

the old forum we didnt have peterbot, and there was no ISO tool. We had to guess what page something was on and search the thread for specific posts. all cases were copy pastes because there also was no quote buttons either.

We played without any technology for many years, and quite a few of those players are still here

Dear Anyone who ever plays on MU,

If you ever play in a mash, and an ITA session comes up, you will notice just how annoying it truly is to have the quote feature enabled. Someone will die, and flip some alignment, and at least 40 - 50 times that one flip will get re-quoted within seconds of someone else doing it. I actually wrote makaze asking for it to cap after a post has been quoted more than a few times and the request was rejected. It made ITA sessions ridiculous to try to focus. people would be shooting, while dozens of people are reacting to deaths and flips, flooding the pages with the same thing over and over. all just to have their reaction shown.

I hate it. HATE IT

For a significant portion of my first game, I did not use peterbot. I am old enough to know what pre-tech was like. The difficulty, I am sure, cut down on D1 nonsense.
