Re: M80 Game Thread
Now here is some more.
Foxcastle Observation, #2.
This concerns Foxcastle's behaviour in regard to BunnyGo's gambit to keep silent for a significant part of D1.
Here we go:
Foxcastle talked about BunnyGo's silent +1 gambit a lot.
To begin with, it aggravated him. He voted BunnyGo (I would go on to do the same a bit later).
As time went on, he softened his feelings and said he didn't want to vote for BunnyGo after all as he assumed Bunny would show up. He didn't actually move his vote for a long time, however.
Here's something interesting looking at the above posts, and factoring in the timing:
- On page 51, Foxcastle said "I don't want to vote BunnyGo anymore" (because he assumed Bunny would show up).
- On page 58, over 3 hours later, he asked BunnyGo "when are you going to reveal yourself" ? (At that time, there were just two votes on BunnyGo).
- On page 74, over 14 hours later, Foxcastle moved his vote to Bonatogether. (At that time, BunnyGo was tied for the lead with Bona, and Foxcastle vote put Bona into a 5-3 lead over Bunny).
This would be somewhat suspicious if BunnyGo was scum, perhaps. What do people think?
Foxcastle, Bunny, any comment?

Shiver me timbers, this performative silence while +1-ing has gone on long enough.
Foxcastle wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 4:42 pmMy guess is that this will all be moot and Bunny will make a grand entrance after making us all wait.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 4:40 pm##CALL GM
Would non-posting, but hiting +1 lots of times, and then making a naked vote with no other posts, meet the requirement for "active participation" in the rules?
[IN BETWEEN THESE POSTS, the BUNNY / WORCEJ INTERACTION OCCURRED WHERE BUNNY'S QUESTIONS CAUSED* WORCEJ TO CLAIM]
Analysis:Foxcastle wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 12:25 pmI'm not inclined to think Bunny is scum for this (as others pointed out, much better for scum-bunny to keep it quiet and get an easy PR kill). On the other hand, I could see town-Bunny wanting to prove himself by catching scum so badly that he doesn't stop to think about other possibilities.
(I also think there's something like a 10% chance that worcej is scum and faking it here. The fact that he's blown up and claimed PR in similar situations is what makes me think he's town, but it's also the case that he knows this and could try to fake it. WIFOM. But I'm only going to seriously entertain this if he's still around on like Day 4 or something.)
Moving my vote to ##VOTE BONA. Someone once said that only scum joke about being scum.

Yeah that’s perfectly reasonableJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 3:11 pmBecause:Dousing wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 3:07 pmWhy would you bring up a post from page three just to say “don’t worry these posts are irrelevant”?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 2:37 pm
Yes I agree. I was disagreeing with Bozo's take.
Do you want to argue about that?
a) Brainbomb repeatedly demanded that I analyse Foxcastle and was calling me scummy for not doing so, and:
b) Bozotheclow, our recently deceased pirate chum, had posted an analysis of that exchange in which he felt it was highly relevant because be believed that it indicated scum interaction, and:
c) I could not analyse the relevance of this issue without looking at these posts again myself, and:
d) Having concluded that I did not agree with Bozo's analysis, I felt I should post that conclusion.
Alright?
But anyway, Jamie do you think there’s a chance mafia mass left the Eden wagon like I suggested in my long post? It seems it dropped super quickly and was completely incapable of picking up again…

Dousing, I thought it was a little suspicious as well. I think 2 reasons are likely, and are both partially true:Dousing wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 3:35 pmYeah that’s perfectly reasonableJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 3:11 pmBecause:

1. Mafia was part of the wagon.
2. The wagon was a pressure wagon, since several people felt like President Eden was 'off' and not performing to expectation.
Consequently, when your wagon formed, President Eden's dissolved since there just wasn't enough conviction formed there. And perhaps Mafia also jumped into your wagon.
On a side note, I'm curious if I'll be the night kill. On one hand, I was an early wagon, and my spat with X might be something they can work with. On the other hand, I feel like several people strongly townread me, which is a good way of getting night killed.
Then again, I have an unfortunate talent for voting town. I wasn't around EoD, but I may have considered moving onto Bozo. They were certainly my 2nd choice after X.

Re: M80 Game Thread
People who left the Eden wagon in the last 2.5 hours of D1 (but before the last 28 mins), in order:
Ghug
BunnyGo
Bozo
Worcej
People who left the Eden wagon in the last 28 mins of D1, in order:
President Eden
Ghug
President Eden
Foxcastle
Ghug
In the last 2.5 hours of the game the majority of action involving the President Eden wagon was Ghug and President Eden repeatedly joining, leaving, re-joining, and leaving again.
I called this sketchy at the time and I'm calling it sketchy now.

Re: M80 Game Thread
A very cynical pirate could conclude that Ghug and Eden wanted it to look like Eden had remained a viable wagon closer to EoD than was actually the case, to buy some kind of credibility for President Eden later on.
This is especially interesting given President Eden made a hard PR claim that has been counterclaimed.

Re: M80 Game Thread
President Eden's vote moves in the final 28 minutes looks like Brainbomb's usual D1 voting activity compressed into a 28 minute period, fuelled by a cocktail of cocaine, amphetamines, anabolic steroids and Mountain Dew.
In that last 28 minutes:
President Eden moved his vote 11 times.
Ghug moved his vote 5 times.
Foxcastle moved his vote 3 times.
Brainbomb moved his vote twice.
Haze move his vote once.
No-one else moved their votes in that space of time.
The apparent flurry of voting in the last 28 minutes was 72.7% comprised of the wild and wacky voting of just Eden and Ghug.

Just logging on for the day and I see this. In case someone hasn't already said this. No. Post more.

[for those who don't wanna read a wall of text I've underlined "sections" of my post which relate to different topics]
So okay, jokes aside, I have a lot of explaining to do:
Bozo, if it makes you feel any better, I was cringing at what I posted the entire time I was at work and I would've explained myself a lot better if I had the time (this post will be the last time I will ever use this excuse ever again this game, if you look at last game I was a very frequent poster and I don't intend to afk like I did D1 again this game.)
for a little context to my posts: I was very disinterested in actually playing the game the moment I saw 30-40+ pages before I've even said anything. I had whatever bug KoalaAttack had last game and wasn't actually that invested (especially since half the posts were memes and shitposting).
Strangely being the target of a wagon has kinda amped me up and I'm a whole lot more excited to play once I've tanked my reputation
Rest be assured, I'm more than eager to see this game through (unless I die I suppose)
That being said I was actually reading the forums (I had been/still am caught up) I was just having a hard time distinguishing between what was a genuine argument/what was trolling & banter/what was old-ish news. That's the primary reason why (@Kak) I was asking for an executive summary some time earlier (no shade towards Kak is intended btw). However, I also wanted a few other things:
- I wanted to see what actually mattered to people
- I wanted to see where people's interpretation of certain events differed and
- I wanted to prove my existence
If I had more time I would've made my intentions a lot more clearer and actually done smt with the info I was provided (or asked a few follow-up questions idk).
As for my defense of Eden... yeah that was a terrible move on my part. At that point I had three posts on the forum and really wanted to kinda show that I was genuinely wanting to participate in future discussions but that I was just gonna be (temporarily) gone for D1.
As such I kinda wanted to put my two cents out there to spark some discussion... and I guess I got what I wanted
Currently, I don't really understand what I was even trying to say in those posts. I really just like Eden as a user (and their guide from 2012[?] was really helpful) and that kinda just bled in to my arguments.
As a result, I can totally understand RDR's snap decision to vote for me. I had terrible logic and was blatantly biased. However, I think that RDR's decision (and the decision's of many others) to maintain their vote on me was clearly wrong.
Certainly, I looked scummy however I think the real wagon should've just been between Eden and Bozo for two reasons:
1. The reason I looked sus in the first place was because of my obvious bias in favor of Eden. If you thought I was acting like a royalist than Eden should be sus by extension.
The only circumstance that voting for me would be preferable to Eden would be a scenario in which I was a Royalist and Eden was town. HOWEVER, I--in that case--would've been happy with an Eden wagon and probably joined it shorty before EoD barring nothing unexpected happening. In short, I would've never have bothered defending him.
2. I would be a poor royalist if I was left alive. One of the key reasons why I was voted for was the scumslip that was my post. Doubtless, if I was careless enough to scumslip like that on D1 I'll do the same on N1, D2 etc.
I think it's curious that the Eden wagon died so quickly. Could it be mafia choosing to hyperfixate on a TvT Bozo v Dosing debate and pry votes from Eden? What'd you think town (or ship I should say)?
