If you suggest a bunch of theories for things, you're going to be wrong on most of them. But the more you suggest, the more likely you land on at least one that is truth or close to it. So you test them all.

Thought experiment: you enter Night Zero as scum and your team has two cannons. Would you decide as a team to hold back both claims? Would that not make it obvious that the cannons were scum if the game got deep into D1 with zero cannon claims? Town would react to that by trying to find the cannon holders to lynch ASAP.

How does town find out who the cannon holders are though? They don't find out when they are used..unless the person (like me or Durga) announces it.

I was put off on him defending flash pretty quickly, but then again a number of townies are defending flash. At the moment I'm a townlean on rdrivera.

I am asking why it wasn't a wasted shot. For it to be a good shot we should have learnt something from it...or better yet, hit scum.

Perhaps your definition of "wasted shot" is different to mine.

We're not dealing with an expert scum-team here, they were trying to clear themselves, not sneak around and come up with a win. The brainbomb save is evidence of that, they just wanted to plow through the doc save/s and ride on clear status.

It wasn't a wasted shot for scum, in the sense that Chaqa was town. It's not like Durga could have shot brainbomb.
