How would we go about learning the power distribution? Do we wait until someone uses a power, a role player gets killed, or what?
And if we're going to start throwing accusations, can we give actual reasoning? Like right now some of you are going to President Eden, so maybe you could weigh in on what I said about them just a bit ago?

Re: MAFIA 79: The Price is Right! [GAME THREAD]
lot of things but not a lot of actual 'i think X'sweetandcool wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 10:46 pmWeighing in on the current Koala vs Bonatogether spat:
I am getting used to Bonatogether and though their posts still give me some headaches they have been inputting more substantially as the game has progressed, so I'm no longer considering voting them just because of the headaches.
However, their opinion seems chaotic and hard to follow. Is this normal Bonatogether behavior? I'm firmly neutral on their alignment at the moment.
Koala: I know they have been claiming their work is keeping them busy, and the breakdown of the peterbot demotivated them initially, but I still think my conspiracy theory about them and damo has some merit (not necessarily a lot).
I am mainly disturbed that the stunt they pulled in the beginning has caused at least a few people to think they are firmly town. I think their stunt proves nothing.
Furthermore, after D1, they have been claiming that they thought Fox was firmly town and that they wanted to save Fox. If that is the case, why didn't they make an argument for that to be the case?
Fox and Koala both focused on discrediting me, but not on disproving my claim. Koala has shown they can make a well thought out argument, why was their no argument for Fox's innocence?
I find their focus on condemning me and not absolving Fox to be suspicious.
I'm still not at the point of voting Koala, but they are high on my list currently.

Let's play a fun game many of you will enjoy:
- everyone post their case on Koala
- everyone vote Koala
- everyone post in advance of EOD what will be your learning when (if form your perspective) Koala flips Town
- flip me Town
PS: this will also by definition prove Bona is a liar because he promised to NK me and not MK me![]()

this eden read dissipates and then reappears iircsweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 2:18 pmIn summary, my top three who are all very close are:
1. President Eden (for reasons just stated)
2. Koala (I've explained that plenty)
3. Snowy for not contributing at all (though there are a couple others who are notably quiet).

this is a gaslight post imosweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 5:08 pmI disagree with the statement that I have been pushing hard to kill particular people. For Damo, I have lightly shaded them, definitely not pushing at all. For Fox, obviously yes, I did push for them because I thought they were Mafia and nobody tried to persuade me otherwise.Dousing wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 4:53 pmDamn this is not at all like Town of Salem/the games of Warewolf I played in summer camp
Regardless, this is my list so far (In decreasing order of how much trust I have in them)
Townreads:
1. Me
2. Jamiet - for actually trying to collect info on the game
3. Bozo - Same reason as Jamie
Not sure/mid trust:
4. Eden - I think I'm biased because their explainer post is really stepping my game up
5. KoalaAttack - I explained why before and Bona is discrediting them with sub-par theories imo
6. Snowy - They're gonna be low until they get more active
7. S&C - They seem to be steering the game (I'll explain more below)
Scumreads
8. Bona - I might be putting them too low but I just don't like the ~vibe~ I'm getting from them. I don't know them well enough to make an *accurate* assessment but it seems that their posts are a lot of words but not a lot of substance
9. Chaqa - They are forthcoming on any particular stances at all
There is (frustratingly) little to gleam about rdr and damo from my POV. Anything to say about them comes mostly on the opinions of other people
For my opinion on S&C (because they're the lowest on my list that I haven't given a good explanation for):
I think every theory they've given so far has been rather flaky. They seem to be pushing hard to kill particular people without actually giving ample evidence to back it up.
To give a (bad) example: their shading of Damo makes practically no sense.
I'm currently voting President Eden, but nobody has really discussed yet whether my opinion has merit or not, but I definitely don't have huge evidence on them and won't pretend otherwise.
I guess I've been pushing for Koala a decent bit, but it's kind of hard not to.

I don't think scum bona would fake all of that exchange with Koala. If he has done, that would be very impressive, frankly.

this is like vaguely in the towny paranoia rangesweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 6:20 pmI won't pretend that I like people agreeing with me. That's why I am currently very suspicious of President Eden. I think they egged me on when I was accusing Fox.Dousing wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 6:07 pmI reread your analysis of Eden and it makes a good deal of sense.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 5:08 pmI'm currently voting President Eden, but nobody has really discussed yet whether my opinion has merit or not, but I definitely don't have huge evidence on them and won't pretend otherwise.
For reference:The problem is you've just thrown out that accusation, but I don't see you committing to it. The reason you helped kill Foxcastle was because:sweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 2:16 pm
This is why President Eden is actually tied with Koala as my number one suspect. When I was suspecting Fox, they swooped in and encouraged that. Then, somewhere along the line, I swear they did the same thing with damo, but I can't find it. And now they are supporting a push for Chaqa.
Kind of seems like they are happily encouraging momentum against different people without actually providing much original thought. Nobody suspects them because people feel happy to be validated by them.
##VOTE President Eden
1. Foxcastle kept pressuring you and
2. The rest of the board jumped on the Foxcastle bandwagon on your behalf
If you were genuine in your analysis's I think you would be more developing evidence/a line of questioning more organically because currently you seem to be going:
Step one - find accusation/conspiracy
Step two - check to see if a townie is biting (if yes use townie as backup and go to step three if not go to step one)
Step three - sit back and watch as townies MK
I'm basing this on the fact that I haven't seen you actually evolve your theories organically and your really hesitant to actually put your name on the line when putting them forward.
Tbh, I suspect that--had I ignored your remark about Eden--you would just found some new theory to push in the hopes that a townie would eventually back you up.
I'm surprised nobody has pointed out the following, because it's something I have been feeling self-conscious about and I think you are referencing, but my main suspects have also been the two who have attacked me; Fox and Koala (I attacked Fox first, yes).
My fuel against Fox was that they didn't seem to address my concern but rather tried to discredit me, something Mafia would do (turn accusations against the accuser).
My fuel against Koala is that they seem to be doing exactly that against Bonatogether (in addition to other Koala behaviours). Bonatogether made a well thought out post and Koala just hand waved it away. They have not substantially made any argument as to why they are not Mafia. The fact that they pushed against me is irrelevant, especially since I have agreed with the base of their argument that newness should not be a shield against suspicion.
I think it's unfair to say I've been pushing for a damo and/or President Eden misskill. Yes, I made a mention about damo but acknowledged it as a conspiracy theory and haven't really mentioned it since. I think it's good to at least point suspicious things out, as long as I acknowledge that it's a bit of a reach.
Same with President Eden. Yes, I'm currently voting for them. But again, I've mentioned something that seems out of place, but have acknowledged that it's not super substantial. I would like discussion on it, and then if the discussion is satisfactory I will probably change my vote.
i feel like he's not really giving townreads so it's hard to say what he's really thinking and if there's real townie paranoia but idk
it's a post to consider
it's not taking responsibility and stepping up

You already answered accurately for me. I thought they said Bona, but they said bofa. Your response pointed out that my question was inaccurate and that I had just played into the bofa deez nuts joke.
How is any of this relevant?

Form your posts, you seem to be more than capable at holding your own/opening up a discussion and you wouldn't be shying away from such a discussion if you were a townie.
Would you like to vouch for President Eden, go ahead?

dousing's right, you knowsweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 7:01 pmGo to the peterbot. I have literally staked the anti-Eden wagon. rdr and sno may have started the anti-Fox wagon, but I was the only one who really committed to it with arguments, so I would argue I championed that one too.Dousing wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 6:52 pmIt was only brought up after me *a townie* decided to bring it upsweetandcool wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 6:48 pm
First, it does keep coming up. You've just brought it up again, thank you. My vote is an encouragement to discuss it (oddly even President Eden hasn't even chimed in). Secondly, I am strongly suspicious of Koala, so if my comments go nowhere, I will probably be switching to them. In the meantime, I am keeping Eden under close scrutiny to see if anything else about their behaviour speaks to me.
If I didn't say anything you would never have spoken of it again because you'd realize the only way to build an anti-Eden wagon would be to stake your own name on it instead of getting some poor townie to do it
And my actions garnered several sweetandcool votes on day 1.
What is this nonsense about me not sticking my neck out??
i actually didn't read what dousing had to say but at any rate what s&c has to say is wrong
