MAFIA 79: The Price is Right! [GAME THREAD]

1. Chaqa claims VCop w/ fake scans on Eden and Bona
2. Eden claims Roleblocker
3. Dousing CCs VCop w/ S&C scan
4. Chaqa retracts
5. S&C claims Bodyguard
6. Bona claims Tracker (supposedly he is at #1 in reading when he does so)

So, since Eden claimed first, we'll examine him first.

So you're Eden and Chaqa has just outed as you as not vanilla. Which is surprising, because you're the most damn vanilla person ever. What is an enterprising young paragon of the legal profession to do?

Case 1a: You are the Roleblocker
Well in this case, you tell the truth! Golly gee, you done roleblocked Bona on Night 1 and poor old Snowy on Night 2. You played some Back 4 Blood, drove around in your modest car, and spent a lot of time at the DMV. Then that rapscallion son of yours, Bona, decides to say he didn't get roleblocked and bye darnit that boy just ain't right. He's scum!

Case 1b: You are Mafia
Well boss, you sees, we was goin down to Giovanni's for some pizza and then some guy in a mall cop outfit made us. So then we had to rat out 8-Ball Bona and some stiff from the morgue they found in a pile of snow over in the 801st ward. I tells ya, can't be an honest made man these days.

Meanwhile, over at Our Lady of Ligma Charter Academy for Basketball, an 8-foot-tall phenom from the Mid-Atlantic towers over the competition. A young lad, ready to make his name and star in the next episode of The Price is Right (because it's at this point in the story I remembered the flavor).

Case 1a: You are the Tracker
You use your supreme height to keep an eye on everyone in the studio. You watched a man fall into a freezer in seat 801, but nothing happened, and that old dude (born in like... 2005 or something) just sat and watched. Laaame. But then this greasy used-car-salesman guy, who kinda looks like he could be your daddy, comes yelling at you about blocking your shots and you're just like "cap"

Case 1b: You are Mafia
Dad always yells at you. He didn't like that board game crowd you fell in with, he said they were gonna turn you into a square just like their boards. He didn't like the people on that spaceship, he said they were just using you to vent. And he sure didn't like that quinoa bullshit. So you joined the local Barker Gang, going out to spay and neuter all those pets (I don't really know what the flavor is), and then he blocks your car in at night! That fucking jerk, you'll show him, he never had his car.

That was supposed to be a case and it turned into a creative writing exercise.

@any psychos who still thinks I'm the best choice to vote for today.

We have a clear Eden vs Bona situation.

While there is plenty of reasons to suspect me strongly, I have not been provably shown to be mafia.

We know for a fact either Eden or Bona is Mafia. Please vote accordingly.

And while my opinion isn't liked currently, and I'm most frequently paired with Bona, I would like to point out:

Before Bona chimed in, I seemed like a dead lock for Mafia. But since Bona did speak, Eden is now strongly suspect.

Case 1: Eden's reaction to Chaqa's false claim was genuine, and Mafia Bona was chiming in, in an attempt to save fellow Mafia sweetandcool and/or provoke a Eden misskill.
Case 2: Mafia Eden was fooled by Chaqa's false claim and reacted by covering them self. They chose RB because claiming Bodyguard would be an obvious cover since it is unverifiable. They choose Bona and Snowy as their RB. Snowy is dead and can't contradict them. They know Bona will contradict them, but they also know they will be provoking a Bona vs Eden situation and hope to take Bona down as a parting shot. They also knew that since Chaqa had "scanned" Bona as non-vanilla, making them a better target for a parting shot.

Let me know if anywhere my logic doesn't track, but I think I outlined these cases pretty accurately.

And please note I am making two assumptions: Chaqa's story is true, and Dousing is Vanilla Cop.

The third case is that both Bonatogether and PE are mafia. However, there is no reason that you can't be mafia with either Bonatogether or PE, or both.

what IS in dispute, for the rest of the town, is who it is. I have provided a test that will show who it is beyond a shadow of a doubt, which AFAIK cannot be disrupted without the mafia paying a serious price by allowing Dousing to get another scan.

you keep copping out that you "don't have mech brains" but it's not a complicated situation. I know you're at least capable of logicking through it even if you don't often find yourself spending a lot of time on mechs. I've also presented it very simply and objectively. And I understand you don't trust me, but you should be able to engage with what I'm saying and explain why it won't work, or explain why it shouldn't be done even if it will work.

you won't do this, because you know you need to miskill me today for your team to have a chance to win. there is literally no other answer, because there is no reason this MUST be decided today, from town POV, when there is a foolproof way to figure out the truth and resolve it tomorrow.

in the hypothetical world where you're tracker and I'm scum you should have NO PROBLEM with this arrangement

There is so much wrong with this, but mainly that last statement is where I will focus.

1. Suppose Eden or Bona is scum, doesn't matter.
2. Suppose we DK someone, we'll use me as an example, whatever. I am either Mafia or not.
3. Suppose we follow through with Eden's plan and Mafia doesn't disturb it in any way. In other words, suppose it is foolproof.
3. Suppose Eden's plan deadlocks Eden as RB, or Bona as Tracker.

Result:

1. We KNOW Eden/Bona is Mafia and we KNOW the other is a role.
2. We also lose one more member of town to NK in the meantime.
3. We either have 4 town and 3 mafia or we have 5 town and 2 mafia depending on the accuracy of our DK.
4. We also have a confirmed mafia, so we will then get a correct DK.
5. After voting our correct DK, we will lose one more to NK.
6. When the dust settles we will have either 3 town and 2 mafia or we will have 4 town and 1 mafia (with no clear further suspects, but roles I'm guessing will make clean up easy).

So in one case we are pretty likely to win and in the other I assume there is not much hope.

ALTERNATIVELY:

1. We vote Eden or Bona, 50% chance of getting it right.
2. If we are correct, the remaining is confirmed town role. If we are wrong, the other is confirmed Mafia.
3. NK happens.
4. Same town to mafia ratios as mentioned in the previous scenario. But we don't waste our time on the roleblocking plan.

consider that unless he's exactly traitor, he knows how many PRs there are, so he can safely fakeclaim a role that's not there with no verifiable info.

I know he pretended he was catching up and posting as he goes along, but there's no way to verify he didn't read the whole thing first and then "catch up" in ways that support his fakeclaim.
