I trust Dargorgel's judgement. I don't think he'd stand by as co-GM and let BB launch a completely wacky setup. I hope it's reasonably balanced.worcej wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:57 amIf this game has typical balancing, there should be only 3 non-town roles with only 12 players.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:54 amI have no major thoughts on what the setup might be, no.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:20 amDo you have any thoughts on what this closed setup might be? I have this peculiar sense that we've all recieved the vanilla townie PM and there are NO mafia present. No Nightkills. Just us routinely executing VTs all game long. Brain and Darg laughing wildly while the rest of us fume.
The amount of information available to me is limited to my own role.
Going super deep into the rabbit hole here: but the fact Eden and Chaqa reviewed this setup, there could be some misc. shit BB custom made for it…

Technically if you didn’t read the setup your at the same level as those who read it.Fluminator wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:04 amYou think I didn't read the setup?worcej wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:44 amProbably just Flum lolHamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:04 amKak really did a deep dive into the whole Home on the Range thing.
Thing is, how many players start the game with a "I didn't read the setup?"
GMs have certainly created the conditions to help/enable players.

The GM asked you to post at least 10 times.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:04 amFirst question, just doing it to honour the GM expectations.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:53 am
Why do you feel the need to do that?
Are you worried you'll fail to post 10 times?
Second question, no, I am not worried.
4/10
The GM did not ask you to count your posts.
The PeterBot can count your posts.
Are you going to stop counting when you get to 10?

This game has a closed setup.
Therefore Ghug cannot have seen the setup as that would be game-breakingly unfair.

FWIW - I didn’t have a copy of my resume to give, but the question was weird as hell from the boarder guard

That's a bit mad.
I don't carry my resume around with me when I travel.
You must have just had a suspicious look about you.
Canada is worth protecting, after all.

Yeah that's a super weird question to be asked at the border.

How it works in Canada is when border guards graduate they draw lottery numbers to get first dibs at a location. (It used to be based on marks in school but that made things too toxic and competitive)worcej wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:07 amThey demanded I give them my resume to prove I work for my company when I actually had a business card to show them…ghug wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:05 amI've always thought the Canadian border guards were nicer than the American ones.Fluminator wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:03 am

The place every guard wants is usually toronto or vancouver ariport but those spots fill up fast. The person who gets the last choice almost always ends up with Snowflake Manitoba as their station.
Thunder Bay border guards are very near the bottom of the lot so you will have the grumpier people there too.

A hint, some revelation about the enemy, maybe a number or two, with that I feel lost now, but I guess that's what a closed setup is supposed to do.
What do you think about my ideas about the 3rd party? We might not have only one threat but two?

I still don't understand the comment. It might be alignment indicative but I have no idea which way to swing it because I don't get it.

Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
Ok so anyway, I will address why I said it was "slight sus" of Hamilton Brian to start numbering his posts.
Basically it just looks like try-harding. That is, the vibe I instinctively got from it was of someone being a little bit too eager to earn brownie points early; a little too eager to show that they'd read the rules and knew 10 posts were required. Maybe it's nothing, but I got a bad vibe from it.

Might be the wrong vibe - but I think HB wants to try and demonstrate he is actively playing? Remembering prior games, he is usually near the bottom on post counts.
