Let's narrow it down a bit...

Re: Twenty Questions Game the Ninety-Sixth
Questions (max. 15):
1. Not real.
2. Lives in a dwelling at least two stories high.
3. One story one plot.
4. Creator is from Europe.
5. No talking animals (or animal-like).
6. Not originally an English language novel.
7. Story not originally from a roman language branch.
Information (unlimited):
1. Is a person.
2. Born outside the US.
3. Made of fictional molecules.
4. Features in a story with more than two dwellings.
5. Dwells in a story with more than two features.
6. Born on (a fictional version of our) Earth (Terra).
7. Born on Afro-Eurasian continent/landmass.
8. Person retains both of their arms and both of their legs throughout the whole story.
9. Creator from continental Europe.
10. Character did appear in a novel.
11. Character has wikipedia page.
12. Character from continental Europe.
13. Story did take place (at least in part) in the 2nd Millenium (1001-2000).
14. Character born in Eurasia.
NOT Beowulf (DarthPorg36) [refunded]
@han: the Eurasia question removed Africa as birth place.
Also, I get the feeling the story might be one of the Brother Grimm's. Well depending how the answer of Octavious' last question is, of course. But the Grimm Bros. (still waiting for a video game release with that name) tick every box right now (well, han never said 'they' to the creators so I might be wrong, but that might be just a clever rouse). Anyway, at least we have removed red riding hood from the possible story list since the first appearance was french.
I guess I'll wait a bit for my next question, want to know more about the timeframe. Although ... there is one easy question that might give us much needed information if there is a no ...
"Is the language of the original story part of the Indo-European language family?"
If the answer is no, we have lost one question, sure, but then we know it has to be Finnish, Hungarian, Basque or Lappish/Sami. Some might say Turkish, but then again, it isn't a european language  :AustrianChad: (just kidding)

They were.
I think it's worth it to spend a question on gender. Usually that's one of the first down.
Language is Indo-European.

15. Born/written after 1500.
16. Born in Europe.
17. Language is Indo-European.
18. Character is a dude.
19. Dude is still alive when the story ends.
NOT Beowulf (DarthPorg36) [refunded]
Thinking what question might be interesting (brainstorming part):
-) What role does the dude fulfil (antagonist, protagonist, support, ...)?
-) Focussing onto the language should be helpful.
-) Focussing on the timeframe might be good too.
-) Maybe how many books were printed/written about it?
Well, one clarification I'd like to have about Information 15 - was it meant as story published/book written or character/creator born? I think it's more meant for the Character since that was the talking point at the time, but I'd like to be sure about it.
Other than that, I think I want to ask more about the language; germanic and slavic are the two big contender right now, I think, and as I stated before, my hunch drives me to the Grimm Bros. So I'd like to ask: "Was the story originally written in a germanic language (family)?"

Not Germanic.
There goes Norse, German, and English.
To clarify both creator and character are after 1500.

Indo-European... so we can rule out all the great Hungarian works of literature
Hmmm... The Greeks haven't written anything remotely interesting for 2000 years, and the Albanians haven't written anything remotely interesting...
Balto-Slavic then?
And (if yes) Russian?

Clarification: What's the difference between guesses and information? And we are guessing a book character, correct?

Re: Twenty Questions Game the Ninety-Sixth
Since I was afraid this character might be a little obscure, I decided to only count no-answers as part of "total questions". If the answer to a question is yes or ambiguous, then it doesn't contribute to the fifteen questions.
He appears in a novel, but not necessarily only a novel.
