so what is the reason to wait for lfischl to confirm something

If he is doc who self saved he should say so as this would make you (or him) a liar.

If he is doc who saved you or not the doc he should say nothing.

So: He should either say

"I am doc who self saved, let's kill brain"

OR

"I have nothing to declare"

No unnecessary info is thus revealed.

Either

doc saved you and this could be fish, you or anyone else (obviously not me otherwise I wouldn't be asking) and fish simply says "I have nothing to declare"

or

fish self saved and you are a liar

or doc saved somebody not you or fish and you are a liar but we can dismiss this as saved person would surely have spoken

or doc saved fish and you are a liar (doc would not have revealed but a saved fish has not yet had opportunity to speak - I hadn't thought of this.

So, there is an additional statement fish could make "The doc saved me not brain, let's kill him."

I acknowledge that the most likely situation is you are telling the truth but I just want fish to have the opportunity to speak.

Actually fish need not differentiate between self save or saved by A.N.Other he can merely say

"I know brain to be a liar"

OR

"I do not know brain to be a liar"

This way no clues as to the identity of the doc are revealed.

It was based on the daft notion that if I make an alphabetised read list it means I'm scum.

I rarely make a readlist day 1 but it was unusual be vigFlum shot copJamie and we could observe people's reaction. This is why I made the list. I simply went down worcej's alphabetised list making a comment on each person.

I do not townread Damo. Damo continues to be NAI for me, and the relatively most Suspicious of my NAIs. They would not be my first choice of the vote, but they are a high-info flip for the town regardless.
