Was she from one of the (currently) 10 Asian countries with the largest population, as indicated by this list:

Time for another shot in the dark (too soon?)
Is it Benazir Bhutto?
If not, was this person educated in a Western University?

Re: Twenty Questions, Game 93
Neither from the Indian subcontinent nor from Thailand; Octavious I'm refunding your guess.
She was educated in a university in her home country (probably the answer most useful to you).
Yes, she was from one of those countries.

Re: Twenty Questions, Game 93
If Indonesian, Japanese, Filipina, Vietnamese or Iranian, it is my understanding that she would have to had been born after World War II ended.
If Chinese or Russian, she may be older.

This obsession with geography is not actually helpful at all. We have almost no idea why this woman is famous, yet with only a few questions left, you are desperate to work out exactly which street she was born in.

Re: Twenty Questions, Game 93
The military occupation of Japan by the Allied Powers lasted from 1945 to 1952, though it was primarily carried out by US forces.
I suppose it counts as fully occupied since Japan surrendered unconditionally, but by some argument of definition (like there wasn't enough american soldiers to stand on every meter/yard on japanese earth) someone could say it wasn't. But I think we don't deal with a definition like that.
With her death after 01.01.1970 and her max life span of 79 (plus min life of 41), lets see how that work out:
lets say she died 2022 and lived 41 years, then she lived from 1981-2022
if she died 2022 and lived 71 years, then she lived from 1951-2022
lets say she died 1971 and lived 41 years, then she lived from 1930-1971
and if she died 1971 and lived 71 years, then she lived from 1900-1971
well, these are the four extremes (latest year, max life length, earliest year, min life length), but we see it's possible she lived through both world wars, only one, or none. (note to self, I should've asked about a later date)
I'm not sure which question gives us the most information, but for the last question before our free guesses go away, I suggest one of these topics:
-) more detail what kind of stateswoman
-) decreasing the possible range of her lifespan
-) it would help knowing what made her famous, but I think, less than a GM hint, we will not get it (except if we are godly lucky) if we ask about it
-) getting to know which country exactly should help us in the end too, but I'm not sure if we can achieve that with only one question left.
-) we could try to find out more about that university in her homecountry?

NOT Benazir Bhutto (Octavious) REFUNDED

A stateswoman that worked as an entertainer (but didn't get famous for it) and went into a university in her home country (which was never occupied while she was alive).
Does for anyone ring that a bell?

Re: Twenty Questions, Game 93
Not sure who this was aimed at, but most on-line lists of famous people are oriented around geography. I fail to see why a stateswoman would be an exception to that tendency. In any case, in case this was directed at me, analysis of when military occupations occured is vital so that we ask useful future questions (e. g., 1970 was too soon after World War II to be very helpful) or waste a guess on otherwise strong candidates like Corazon Aquino.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 2:07 amThis obsession with geography is not actually helpful at all. Re: Twenty Questions, Game 93
In hindsight, I know, but I had a hunch she lived/died earlier and no one gave me any input in my questions to the room so I went with it.
But yeah, with Jamie now we had all the questions, lets wait for the answer and get in our guesses, I guess.
