Has rdr always been this defensive about inactivity? I feel like in my memory he’d just post 4-9 times a phase and take the beating for it and everyone kinda knew that was they would get.

Brain was having a rant about people not participating with less then 16 hours or so into the game and I didn't agree. Brain isn't pressuring anyone.

Ive really massively failed at everything this game if you have read my posts and this is your conclusion. I need to do so much better.

In your experience, who is trickier than others?

This is an interesting question, well done.

I would interpret "tricky" in the context of this game as "tricky to read". Someone who is tricky to read is harder to sort as town or scum. This tends to give them an advantage as scum (since people may misread them as town), and conversely a slight disadvantage when they are town (since they are more likely to be wrongly scumread).

People who fall into this category, in the present game, would include:

Me, Jamiet99uk: I am often mis-read, whatever my alignment. I can often get people to consider me obv-town when I am in fact Mafia, and quite often when I am town, I am mis-accused of being scummy. In particular I am relatively often accused of "faking" my town behaviour when, in fact, I am perfectly sincere. This is because the sincerity of a lot of my statements does not vary depending on alignment (only my motivation does).

Fluminator: Flum spends so much of his time trolling and being disingenuous that when he suffers from an occasional burst of honest sincerity, nobody can tell. He's a smart guy but he's hard to read. Certainly "tricky" as scum.

Ghug: Ghug, likewise, is difficult to read and tends not to have a terrifically different meta as town or scum, although I believe there are differences. Ghug can be very insightful as town, especially if he gets to the late game. As a result, Town!Ghug very rarely gets to the late game.

Bozotheclown: Playing against Scum!Bozo is like playing poker with a refrigerator.

And an honourable mention:

TheFlyingBoat: Poor old TFB suffers from what I might describe as "reverse trickyness", in the sense that a lot of people apparently find it almost impossible to consider that he might be town, even when he is town. People like Bona always scream that he is scummy even when he exhibits very mild scummy characteristics. This game is already a potentially good example of this with various people apparently strongly scumreading him for what appear to be very minor things. Now watch him get killed early, flip scum, and everyone pile on to me for "protecting my team mate".

Note that I am not saying I scumread any of these people in the current game.

otherwise this whole name who youd shoot thing has been pretty time wasting

To be clear I’m not suggesting the shot at him since I can see the virtues of not blowing the Vig kill D1 but that being said I do think that there is more than just the gamblers fallacy to justify a kill there: we lose little to nothing if wrong in terms of hunting and we don’t want him a serial lurker at KILO.

This is known as "buddying". As scum I would do this to try to make Brainbomb like me, so that he won't vote me later on.

Back when I was a keener, I'd meta research Bunny's history in the shitposting phase, but I don't know if I have the motivation to do that right now.

Never liked it. Always try harded right away. NAI.

Last game I focused on being quieter and letting others talk D1. Seemed to work well, might be my best town game ever.

I buy that it is. I wrongly scumread him early for it last game, and he did it at least somewhat as a response to my criticism of his play the game before.
