I can't tell if there was consensus on this Gambler idea or not.

I still think a pure vanilla town needs to step up and offer themselves instead of us arbitrarily deciding on someone then hammering it.

Downsides are...if there's no gambler, waste of a life. Removes the hunt for mafia during the daytime. Loss of vote analysis.

Upsides? if there is a gambler, they use their item gaining a bit of an edge for town.

Putting it out like that, seems like there's more downside than upside.

If you think I'm scum, surfing around in the thread calling you out for bad reasons and getting no suspicion, fake claiming a town role and getting no counterclaim, wouldn't you call me "crafty" and "dangerous" instead of "bad at this game"?

At first I thought you were just “shaking things up” or however someone who thinks they need to DO SOMEHTING thinks about this game. But then you kept with the mechs and vague PR hunting. While writing it in the middle of the night, it struck me that I no longer believed this was bad town play.

Then while working today I realized, I need to find the other scum too. So will be focusing on that. Because I don’t really need to deal with you.

Not particularly.

It relies on several parlays, and in exchange town gets…a second Day 1 vote! Woo!! Let’s not learn anything tonight from the kill or other possible actions, let’s just go again!

In exchange we get a low probability chance of a character getting a single item that doesn’t by itself make up for the loss of intel. Let’s just play without too much attention to powers yet.

If nothing else with this game: I’m a HUGE advocate that town doesn’t need UBERMENSCH to DO SOMETHING and win the game; they need to trust each other and help each other make easy decisions.

3. Imply conclusion that would be dubious even if said claim were accurate

I'm content parking my vote on someone who hasn't given us much until I see something better. What strikes you as townie about his play here as opposed to last game?

Kind of cross posted, but even more of my analysis:

If you actually are the CWV then there was only 2 town actions that could target you while the scum could have up to 3 actions that can target players. Scum were at a distinct disadvantage to use their non-killing PRs that you just re-enabled the use of.

Let's get more fringe here too: let's say your town and faking it to increase the odds of scum hitting a real CWV - this is also worse then just staying quiet because you also increase the odds (though only a minor amount) of the two town PR roles of stumbling into the actual CVW (if it exists).

So, in a nut shell:
If you're the CWV - you helped scum out, which is bad.
If you're town and lying - you may have hurt the town for no reason, which is bad.
If you're scum and faking it, you're already bad.

Balki is bad.
