Is he, or has he been, a member of the Labour Party?

(Rules/etiquette clarification) Having shot my free shot, is it appropriate for me to suggest guesses for others to make?

Guess: Is it Nick Clegg?

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 76
My assumption—and it is very possibly a wrong one—is that damo would pick a figure that would at least potentially be familiar to Americans (at least those of us paying some attention to UK politics). That leads me to either Nick Clegg or Nigel Farage, as I am having trouble finding other candidates that I recognize.
Nick Clegg is 55 and Nigel Farage is 58, so I would recommend asking about an age cutoff between the two of them (closer to Clegg)—I think that also makes sense for winnowing the pool of other candidates, as most MPs seem to be in the 50-59 bracket, from what I can tell.

Cleggy? Mr Las Vegas Airport himself? The apologist in chief for Facebook and star of the "I'm sorry" song? I'm curious how he'd pass the no embarrassment barrier

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 76
Farage I guess is not an embarrassment from his own perspective, but neither was he ever a member of Parliament

You learn something every day! I assumed he was because he was a party leader, but I see now that those two things don't always go together...

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 76
Actually age is a good question, good idea.
QUESTION: Is his age, as of today, 65 or older?

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 76
More names for potential guesses:
- Vince Cable, age 79, former MP, former LibDem leader, former secretary of state (business, innovation, and skills)
- Ed Davey, age 57, current MP and leader of the LibDems, so you have to assume that a former secretary of state (energy and climate change) is more prominent that his current position as party leader)
- Menzies Campbell, age 81, no longer in office, former LibDem leader and MP

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 76
My opinion would be that being party leader is "more prominent" than holding a ministerial post outside of the top four ministries.

Did he ever or does he now represent a non-English seat in Parliament?

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 76
I don't know if anyone who watched Ed wielding his little hammer can confidently claim he's not embarrassing. Vince is embarrassingly pro-China. Ming is pretty solid as Lib Dems go, but painfully dull.
I'm not sure why anyone would be inclined to pick any of them.
Drakeford... Salmond... Blackford... hmmm...
Is it Alex Salmond?

You guys asked really bad questions like qs. 2, 11, 12, 14 that had really low chance of helping and now we're reaping the consequences... only 3 questions left and we have hundreds of options.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 4:43 pm1. IS Real
