You could just say that you are unable to answer that question, which would give us another question . . .VillageIdiot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 5:16 amThe character has been in both situations considered heroic and others that would be considered non-heroic. About all I can say about that without giving too big of a clue.

I disagree. He did give an answer, and it's useful - because we can rule out both totally pure innocent heroic individuals, and we can rule out totally black-hearted, despicable, irredeemable villains.JECE wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 4:39 pmYou could just say that you are unable to answer that question, which would give us another question . . .VillageIdiot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 5:16 amThe character has been in both situations considered heroic and others that would be considered non-heroic. Our target is more of a "tweener", as it were. Someone capable of doing both bad and good.

Ok I've got my actual free guess:
Is it Krampus?
Is it Krampus?

We’re definitely headed in the right direction now, but unfortunately no not Krampus.

Completely agree, probably one of the more useful clues you have.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 4:48 pmI disagree. I don't know my Narnia very well, but what does the group (not VI) think about Mr. Tumnus? Sounds like he did both good and bad stuff... but not sure about the puppet thing.

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 74
One of the better-known supporting characters from the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Surely you've heard of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", etc?

Re: Twenty Questions - Game 74
Darn it, you're right. Forgot to check that.
You didn't have to say that, VI, but since Oct ruled him out, oh well. Jamie's mention of Krampus somehow made me think of him.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 12:36 amOne of the better-known supporting characters from the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Silly me.

You still have one more question available if anybody wants to dig for more clues.
1. Not a real person who is now dead
2. Not a real person
3. Not human
4. Video game character *(not exclusively)
5. Has fur.
6. Character appears in a film or tv series
7. Not created by a Japanese company
8. Created before 01.01.2000
9. Not female
10. Not an animal
11. Appeared before video game in a different medium
12. Protagonist/hero? Yes and no
13. Does not appear in a Walt Disney film or tv show
14. Does not walk mainly on four legs
15. No magical powers
16. Has been portrayed in puppet medium
17. Has not been featured on Sesame Street
18. Not originally created/mentioned pre-1800
19. Has not encountered or is a werewolf
Incorrect guesses:
- Pikachu
- Gonzo
- Cousin It
- Moomintroll
- Krampus
Safely deduced away:
- Tumnus
- Paddington
- Sonic
- Bugs Bunny
- Gollum
Re: Twenty Questions - Game 74
I can't think of any other characters like Gollum, Krampus, or the Mogwai/Gremlin. Non-animal creatures with fur that are not polarized towards good or evil seem to be hard to come by.
Dobby from Harry Potter would be an interesting choice because he hinders Harry at the same time as trying to help him, but he doesn't have fur.
I want to ask if this character's origin is literary, but not sure if I should.
