Re: XX Questions, Game LXII
So, profession is significant but we've ruled out:
X Major movie star
X Politician
X Sportsman
X Scientist
X Criminal
X Entertainer
X Financier or Economist
With only 6 questions left, shall we brainstorm other likely occupations before we formally ask the next question?

(human rights) activist comes to mind, but I'm not sure if that is covered with politician at some level. Maybe someone famous as law enforcer? Or military?
What do you think about lawyer? (like in as an option, not ethically)

Re: XX Questions, Game LXII
it might be useful that the person was primarily associated with one region, and people from that region are much more likely to know details of this person and his job.
Re: XX Questions, Game LXII
I considered Clarence Darrow, but he has been portrayed in film and is not associated with a region.
I wonder if somebody from the Civil War may fit.

Maybe we should try to get more information about his date of death? What do you think?
Re: XX Questions, Game LXII
How about "Did he experience WW2" or similar.
Eg died before, lived after.

"Experience" is quite subjective. "Was he alive during...." is clearer.

The American Civil War ended in 1865 so if he was an adult during the Civil War he would have been quite old by 1900 - but it's not impossible, as the two oldest Union solders from the Civil War to die passed away in 1953 and 1956 respectively.

Let's ask the military question perhaps:
Q: Did he serve in the military?

Re: XX Questions, Game LXII
I guess there was also the Mexican-American War just after the Civil War. The last surviving US veteran of that war died in 1929.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 1:41 pmThe American Civil War ended in 1865 so if he was an adult during the Civil War he would have been quite old by 1900 - but it's not impossible, as the two oldest Union soldiers from the Civil War to die passed away in 1953 and 1956 respectively.
Mind you none of these people are famous for anything other than surviving into old age, so....

Re: XX Questions, Game LXII
I know that that was probably just a typo, but the Mexican-American War took place before the Civil War.
I thought about the Civil War because Confederate generals would be best remembered in the Southern region of the United States.
