How do you have a read on everyone but one player within 24 hours of game start

i play a lot of mafia and i like to push myself (although you'll note i had a category for the people with no content so it's not like i have reads on everyone)

i've played 12/12 games with 60 players where i try to give a read on most of the game by the end of day 1

partly it's just a thing i like to do for myself because i like to see how accurate i can be (my results are usually decent) but i also find it more useful to have a big picture perspective

Different backgrounds lead to different playstyles but reads lists are the biggest filler and waste of time in the entire online mafia community across all the forum based websites so if you want to suck up to me don’t post them, and if you don’t want to suck up to me then that’s totally cool nobody in their right mind would but going forward I’m going to pester you about your reads lists if you don’t actually put effort into justifying them.

I wanted to +1 this post because I agree that this setup seems scum-sided but I can't relate to eating dinner, that's just weird and I don't know why bo would bring up something like that with no context.

Context: holy shit, other than me, people have real lives outside the game. Even I'm ostensibly my mother's full-time caretaker and eat at my workspace, and just generally have bad prioritizaiton of other things and this thread.

Bo is saying that because he has real life to deal with, and things other than mafia, like presumably running the forum because he's an admin, and food, and sleep, nad family, that the 24 hour D1 vs the 48 hour D1 gives him less time to interact.

Also I recall him being in Alaska? Or is he back?

Probably have one liners but sure. I can show you games where has done this numerous times.

I don’t personally care about meta - I change my play all the time, so how could I? - but I do care about wasting oxygen and that’s all his preliminary middle of D1 reads list with zero explanation and no content at all is.

Defensiveness is NAI preemptive defensiveness is scummy. Preemptive defensiveness gives you an out for things you know you might do as scum. Like a scum who knows they are more likely to freeze and slank in thread as scum might for instance preempt their lack of content by exclaiming their busy schedule before anyone even asks why they are slanking.

In my experience town players largely tend to only address things like this when they are asked about it while scum tend to address it before anyone even notices.

I'm often defensive about most things because I feel I have to defend my right to have opinions. However...

You're kind of doing that thing again that I thought was scummy last time, but now I'm just starting wondering if its NAI. You're being all "preemptive defensiveness is scummy.", then turning to brain and being "Therefore Rumi is town." which actually kinds of contradicts the point you're making?

@rumi before you say I'm being pocketed/friend pass. Neon seems alot more assertive and aggressive with her pushes and defenses of herself compared of last game where she was mafia. She's also attempting to solve Tom and bozo.

Also Sabi, if this is her town game, how did you not notice last time? She feels like an entirely different person.

Also... Is there anything to solve at this point? There's no real arguing and rawr like last time. No really obvious lies or contradictions. And while I admit I'm being unrealistic expecting scum to slip up so someone can be all like "You said X ten hours ago and now you're saying Y." or a "I never said it was poison moment", everything so far mostly feels like static to me.

I have a reason to think you are Town despite doing a thing I would normally vote in RVS

I agree but maybe it would be more extreme in either direction. Even more posting in order to seem engaged + even more lurking than a normal lurk. Whatever that means, idk how to lurk more than just not posting.

To be clear. No shade to RDR as I think he's behaving pretty normally. Last game he posted more on D1 but that was because he showed up for EOD, iirc, as I expect him to do here too.

idr if it got talked about in the M1021 game thread but in the discord, the scum in that game said that they killed rdr because of his vanilla/PR tell and iirc there was some pressure on him to post more in that game? granted I could be misremembering all this

the finer points of why darg is mafia are as follows
-spends almost all early game joke posting or mech talk
-majority of questions to others are to ask what scum roles they wouldve picked
-gets very omgus heavy over my vote on him and spends all the rest of his posts and energy trying to convice me to stop voting him, while still staying on me anyway.

It isnt alot, and maybe the others voting him can add to this but this seems better to flip today than bozo or damo.
