Quickest catch up in a mafia I've ever had. Nice.
If you are caught up, you should have seen my survey request.
I did I just don't think it's beneficial to the state of the game

Oh god. I didn't even notice that.

Seriously? Is this about to be a repeat of last game? Where some people get blindly defended because liking them?
I was not in the last game, so I do not understand your reference.
Sabi hard defended Neon and insisted she wasn't scum the whole game. (until they were killed). Neon's replacement turned out to be scum.

Even here, Sabi's vote for Bona feels more based in personal feelings rather than anything Bona has done all game. I mean, show me some facts and I'll throw my vote behind Bona.

Some of the votes here feel more memey than substantial, particularly the ones for Tom.

And seriously Bona, wasn't it you (or was it someone else) who told me self-voting was anti-town last game.

tl;dr Personal feelings about something outside the game or prior friendships have no place in something where facts matter. Not things like "I like them." or "the people I invited gate a d1 pass on being voted" (note: both people Sabi invited last game turned out to be scum)
It's RVS most votes will be due to silly things early.

And I can not stress enough that Sabi's defense of me last game was genuine and not just because they like me. They had not seen my scum game and it mimics my town game heavily. I am not polarized

wasn't expecting so many posts this early, working to catch up but not seeing a ton to comment on, atmosphere seems pretty loose which is fine
Does webdip seem more prolific with D1 posting than most other mafia sites?
so far it's been a bit hyper but also fluffy, kind of have to see if the pace keeps up

scum has been voted out day 1 in my last 5 or 6 town games, not that hard if your team plays smart.
Any takeaways from those games that you feel comfortable sharing?
there's no big secret to it really it just requires the town to be engaged with the game and actually trying to find scum (meta reads help but it's not the be all end all). i could go into a mafia theory lecture but it wouldn't be very interesting and it's late for me. just make an effort to find mafia if you're town, even if you don't succeed it sets the table for the rest of the game

I'm not meaning romantically here. I mean like, actual friendship passes, or "they're cool people" pases.

DRHK is one of the closest friends I have, and if I think he's up to no good, he's not getitng a pass.. That said, the meminess has me tuning out most things he's saying.

THat and not really understanding half the references..

well howdy there catbae. would you describe princess neon as low hanging fruit by most standards?

they seem to have terminology down but they keep making statements like “x is greater than rand likely to be town”, and I always found such statements to be very empty platitudes anyway. hearing an inexperienced player making such statements feels like efforts to show others they can play.

I had a deeper thought here but princess neon seems very inexperienced at the game while also impressionable in how they repeat buzz phrases.

I'd like to like last game, again warn us all about interpreting cluelessness and newness as towniness, because any one of us could be scum, yes including me.

But if I ask any questions that you think are "obvious" or "common sense" knowledge, that's why I'm asking them.
I didn’t follow last game. Your post just came across as defensive when you had no reason to be. Comes across as someone town being afraid of being wrong. Not sure there is any reason for a scumbo to make that post besides to just say things and there are ways to say things that are less attention drawing imo.
Really? Cause in my experience defensiveness when it's unneeded is a greater than rand chance of being scum not town. But Rumi is town.
Why is defensiveness a scum trait?

I answered your survey before it was a survey.
I said i would choose Artificer, Druid, Rogue, and Paladin.
omg bozo's in this game! I remember bozo from my first game! I missed you bozo!
Thanks, sorry about M74.

Yes, but I asked what you thought the mafia chose, which could possibly be a different answer, but I will record this for now.
Oh wait I messed this up then.

I'm biased now because now I've seen what everyone else thinks. Clearly I'm missing something about the backup.

pyxxy's "what I would have picked as mafia" before reading, a guesstimate, also you all see to hate using the role names so I'll stop to I guess :( :

day vig, roleblock, vengeful(?) (the Barbarian), tracker

pyxxy's "what I think mafia picked, trying to not be biased even though I've read a bunch of people's answers now":

day vig, roleblock, seems like everyone loves the backup so universal backup, and tracker
Most players were using the role names, but I have kept the list as roles to be consistent.

Is this the reason you voted for Tom?
I voted for Tom because in my experience confusion this blatant about something obvious is also a greater than rand chance of being scum.
Was there no chance in your experience that Tom could be being sarcastic? would you say there was a greater than not rand chance that his joke was misunderstood?

I think it is detrimental to conduct a survey in a 24 hour phase where the most important facet is to get people to start evaluating others. this excercise would be better suited to begin n1. doing it now clutters thread space and gets people thinking about something intangible that doesnt have utility until 2 scum have died.

Mafia role predictions:
bozo: hooker, vengeful, day vig, universal backup
Rumi Tobari: hooker, day vig, universal backup, fake inventor
brainbomb: day vig, universal backup, strongman, tracker
worcej: hooker, day vig, universal backup, fake inventor
DemonRHK: day vig, universal backup, jailor, odd cop
dargorygel: day vig, universal backup, fake inventor, double vote
pyxxy: day vig, hooker, universal backup, tracker

in an ideal world one mafia was honest about what roles mafia took and survey proves hey they lied or hey now we know what scum wanted.

a gun going off already tells us dayvig and its extra kp (kill power) so thats just a no brainer. we didnt need a survey to get that idea out there for example.

forcing people to name off what four they think scum selected can also be harmful because if a town got all four right would you then kill that person for being too accurate?

We likely would not know that until the game was over, unless maybe the vig was the last mafia.
