Chaqa's all about scumslips. It's one of the worst things about him.
I continue to be woefully unimpressed with Vecna.

In this context “meme” more or less means “joke,” there’s some nuance to it but it’s not necessary for us.dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 7:22 pmEden… could you point out in small words where byz claims his vote for yiu was solely a meme thing… and define what that means for an old man?
Byz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 12:37 amIf you don’t give me a reason to vote elsewhere, I’ll gladly sit here until eodPresident Eden wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 12:22 amBecause openly announcing that you’re fabricating a push eliminates any need for people to have authentic reactions. Doubly so when you choose a popular meme target—not that you’d have known I was one, but you deferred to Sabi, who does.
Plenty of successful wagons started as memes. Votes count.
Byz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:25 pmEden is a reasonable shot at an impactful wolf, so it’s interesting to me. I’m a little wary their wagon has had as much staying power as it had, though I’m.not sure how much of that was just memes. I don’t think we kill here today though, as much as they were my first ping.
Byz eventually denies that his vote on me was a meme, but as you can see from the quotes above, he clearly accepted the frame that it was a meme wagon and even seemed to sell it as a positive thing in parts (“plenty of successful wagons start as memes,” “memes are better than logic in mafia 60% of the time anyway”). He can retreat to the thinnest technical claim that he never outright said it was a meme, but to act like he didn’t want us to believe it was one, as I’d argue he is doing in the last linked post here, is just plain bad faith.Byz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:42 pmI made no illusions I wasn’t a hypocritePresident Eden wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:37 pmSays the guy who openly declared he was meme voting and then spent the rest of the day making up real-sounded reasons to rationalize it!![]()

I have an idea as to why, but in context of the Byz-Sabi interaction I discussed, I’d like to hear why you say so. I suspect there’s some constructive criticism that would be helpful to hear

I don't know if you saw it, but I stated that my motivation was more to tie up the votes to keep Eden in. Not because I think Eden is town (I'm still not sure what to think about Eden), but becauuse I find Eden's explanations helpful and consise.bo_sox48 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 7:32 pmI barely read at all. I don't remember you ever pointing out to me that you were voting for me. But again, I don't read much. I figured that one out all on my own!
My reasons for being suspicious of you do not include that you voted for me; rather, you voted for me in tandem with several others without much reason to do so. Being first, as Chaqa was, doesn't really raise any alarm bells, though as stated recently I'd like to see him and Jamie face off. The tension between them is fun. Being second - Bona - could be suspicious, and I'm surprised you didn't point this alternative out to me. He said nothing other than dropping a rogue vote to hammer someone who hadn't posted yet. At least Chaqa made it kinda funny. Rumi was third, and I don't think Rumi is scum at this point. You were fourth, but you had also recently voted for pyxxy in hopes that they would return I guess, and it worked? So you voted for me instead. Maybe that's not all that big of a deal on the face of things. But it still is opportunistic and unnecessary, which caught my eye.
To be frank, I didn't vote you back, and explicitly said this wasn't really worth much thought right now because I'm probably the only one that cares about a bullshit wagon against me and the odds of wagoning you on evidence that only I care about are slim to none, but it's useful information down the road as people begin to flip and motivations across the board from the early game become more transparent.
