Matches my thoughts. IF (and only if) you think you might have something of a trail if visiting, it could be worthwhile.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 10:08 pmOk so actually I was thinking about this.
To state the obvious:
The clear benefit to peeking during D1 is that you learn what badge you started out with.
The clear benefit to waiting to peek later (perhaps much later) is that you learn what badge you ended up with after various events may or may not have taken place.
The question is, which of these items of information is more useful, bearing in mind, you can only have one, or the other?

Playdip doesn't even have an off site bot so no.
I don't get the name tags either

Re: MAFIA 75: TROUBLE AT THE PRECINCT [HIDDEN]
The name tag thing, just for clarity, is not a standard webDip Mafia mechanic - it's some special crazy mechanic DemonRHK has added to this game. I think it was tried once before.
Basically everyone starts with a badge. It is not connected to any role powers they might have. Some (not all) badges confer modifiers, both negative and positive (for instance there's one which doubles the power of your vote, but there's also one that nullifies your vote).
Various events, most obviously Visits, cause person A to swap badges with person B.
ONCE per game, you can "peek" at what badge you are wearing at that moment in time.

Is this some kind of in-joke from the Furry community or wherever you people originally met?

Wait. Is alot of this process really talking about random things to logic out the victims and the culprits?
I'm used to applicability of facts, evidence, motive, and suspects to figure out whodunit, howdunit, and whydunit. This feels like I have to use my lack of ability to engage in smalltalk x.x

On the first day, yes, a lot of it is about that. Once we've got some evidence in the form of voting patterns, information about who has been killed and what role they had, and people claiming information learned at night, then you can work with that data.Rumi Tobari wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 10:19 pmWait. But often, quite a lot can be revealed on Day One, in fact.

That's something I can do; I only need logic and puzzle solving and not social skills.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 10:20 pmOn the first day, yes, a lot of it is about that. Voting is open, not secret ballot? Most interpretations of the game I've seen in fiction, the vote breakdown was known, but not who voted for who.
