That's as good a guess as any. He has won two Tonys (not, interestingly enough, for West Side Story). Hard to classify him as being part of a group, though. He wrote with several lyricists, but none of the partnerships lasted more than the one project. But I can't think of any other 2-Tony-winning musician who could be classified as being in a group (or team), and are dead.Leonard Bernstein

I actually had his Wikipedia page pulled up as a guess based on prior answers, with the "2 Tonys" answer I searched the page, saw the match, and knew it was him.
