Definitely no 24 hour rule, that's why we have 48hr phases. I have gone more than 24 hours without posting before. Sometimes it just happens.

I've read the responses to me from TFB and Bona and I definitely don't feel more confident in my analysis :/

No. I'm kinda stumped, and moving away from my scumleans (still my second game so who knows if I've got anything here, do you think I do?)

In M73 tbh we did alright killing lurkers. Wasn't great, but wasn't this terrible (again granted this is a mini).

So after sleeping on it, I'm down to kill Kak.

I figured that he was trying to get a reaction from you. Potentially he was being quite clever by pretending he thought it was a minute from EoN when in fact there was an hour left, faking a "last minute" gun claim and baiting you into replying. The fact it was midnight in the UK potentially reduced the likelihood of drawing a reply, however.

And like, that's Kak's only post today? A non-explanation of his gambit, when in my first game Jamie lying was seen as almost death-worthy? Maybe I've overreacting here but like, Celaph + Damo hit the nail on the head here:

If Kak is town, then I think that Damo is very likely town.

The main point here is that Kak is being let lurk which either means that he is scum or that scum are happy to have him around. However, if Damo is scum then starting early on in D2 scum are looking to get Damo to safety with a good counterwagon. A lot of people expressed D1 hesitations with Kak's posting style so at the very least they should pressure him to see if they can make that an option.

Can you clarify what your take on ne would be if Kak flips scum please.

I have been advocating a Kak flip throughout the game.

Btw your first sentence 2nd para is kinda obvious. Kak was never gonna be a NK was he?

With Kak's current post-D1 posting pattern (I didn't mind D1! Thought it was fun), he's never going to be a plausible NK and given the perceived lack of engagement in the game, he seems like a bad choice for KILO.

Off the top of my head I would say scum!Kak's reason for targeting Damo is that it doesn't introduce any more leads for us to follow, and it doesn't make us question why Kak would make that decision.

Damo has already been a wagon for two days. Scum!Kak knows this, so maybe Kak gains slight subconscious credibility with all of us for wanting what some of town also want? Which is to flip Damo to resolve all the D1 wagons.

Next, if Kak names literally anyone else, he's going to get asked "Why?", right?

He would have to respond to questions about why did you want to shoot X? Did you scumread them? Did you think they would reveal useful info even if they flipped town?

Pretending to aim at Damo raises none of these questions because we all implicitly understand why one might see value in shooting Damo, so Kak gets to disappear with no consequences.

tbh I never really got how it was a case against bona since behaviorally it was pretty central on TFB. I think it was a good thing to question though even if you don't really believe in it anymore.

damo was like kak's only scumread fwiw so the target makes sense to me. But I don't think claiming a shot is that alignment indicative (unless he actually has a gun since scum!kak with a gun gets a shot off and probably wouldn't want to claim it, making him town!kak, but I doubt he has a gun)
