In general, I wasn't particularly confident on any scum read yesterday. I was mentally debating between aaro/damo and then damo/Durga. I voted Damo over aaro first because while I wasn't sure which one I found more scummy, I knew that I would much rather have a close and contested vote than a runaway wagon.

I think my vote on Durga and subsequent message are rather telling in why I voted Durga over Damo. It wasn't that I reevaluated Durga and found her to be scummier than I thought, but rather I re-evaluated Damo and found him to be slightly townier than I thought. Hence my comment that I was less confident in Damo and follow up and specifically why I was less confident in damo.

did you consider going back to aaro when you switched your vote the last time, and if you did, what was the thought process there?

Good question. My instinct is that I didn't, but now I'm asking myself why the hell didn't I.

I thought the D1 fight with Durga was weird+annoying. Following up by fighting TFB...that's when I started to go, "two fights in two days is quite unlike Bona from last game". But if Bona just does this sometimes, then, well, yeah.

So I think I'll stick on Maniac. I should be around for EOD today, barring a surprised AYCE sequel.

i've had blowups with boat man before that went largely the same way. i believe this is the first time i've had two big arguments back to back.

This is largely the flip side of my play from last game. I have a tendency to get tunnel vision, which sometimes works (on celaph from last game), but sometimes doesn't (durga this game). It's the same impulse.

My eod strategy was to say I wasn’t going to be on and then appear at last minute to disrupt any close vote scum had engineered. There was still time for others to vote after I thought I was tying it.

I was mafia that game, not alien

I've changed more from a VCA-based understanding to weight interactions more heavily, as town. I also post more often with a lower word count per post. That's the first game in that category, and I think that's become slightly more accentuated? I've also gotten into more fights.

His reads list wasn't strange at all. I kept rereading it and nothing was strange. It seemed on par for any low info day 1 reads list. I was the one who asked him for reads list. It wasn't random.

Anyway Your the same person who misread durga and thought she was strange. Maybe you have a perception problem Bona.

Yes there's 3 scum but the way they came to be and died was weird. If scum were being wagon, would you not expect it to be more dynamic. The wagons were not moving for most of eod1. It was weird.

If damo is scum, I think we can safely assume that there's 1 or 2 scum in the last-second cascade onto Durga (snowy, jamie, DL, aaro). Of these, I rank them jamie > snowy > DL > aaro. Observant people would notice that this towniness ranking is essentially the same as the order in which they moved, and this is because I believe that the initial move was towny, but later movers (DL, aaro) had strange given motivations.

If damo is town, then once they saw the pile-on start they did not care. Either possible kill was town. However, blending in with the herd makes sense - thread momentum was behind the Durga kill. I think we can assume about one mafia would make the move. Again, snowy and jamie feel honest to me at this point in time, so this points again to DL and aaro.

I have a hard time reading DL, and aaro already has some steam.

Why was switching a 7-5 to a 8-4 with a minute to go scummy? At that point, either Durga was dying or there was going to be a tie.

There was no momentum for damo. You were at the tail end of the pile, with Maniac making 1 vote for damo before you. Using the quoting for exact time trick, there were only 20 seconds in between his vote and yours, and so while it's not impossible that you saw the vote, I'm not sure it's likely.

I was refreshing constantly saw it, immediately voted. I could be wrong but I think my vote was only the vote and then justified it in the next post.
